Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) surprised Hope (then Kim Matula) with a proposal at the climax of her Hope for the Future fashion show, but she was so stunned that she had to retreat with him to the building’s rooftop, where he could ask again in private before she accepted. Unfortunately, the night before the wedding, she spotted Liam kissing Steffy and called it off.

January 2, 2012

During a vacation in Cabo, Thomas Forrester (then Adam Gregory) popped the question on the beach, but Hope gently turned him down, admitting she wasn’t ready for that big of a step in their relationship quite yet. Thomas promised to ask again when she was over Liam, but that would prove a long wait.

February 6, 2012

It wasn’t exactly a proper proposal, but Hope was still overjoyed when Liam announced his intention to end his marriage to Steffy and tie the knot with her instead. Hope didn’t want to waste any time, but their quickie wedding was kiboshed when Steffy refused to sign the divorce papers. Later that year, Liam and Hope did tie the knot in Italy, but still jealous of Steffy, she insisted on another ceremony to make it legal in the U.S., and that one never happened.

July 22, 2013

Liam once again proposed to Hope, this time in Brooke’s garden, and she happily accepted. Unfortunately, her jealousy over Liam’s lingering feelings for Steffy and his jealousy over his brother Wyatt’s own pursuit of Hope derailed this engagement.

Sept. 16, 2013

While working on a web series called Room 8, Carter cleverly used a rehearsal with co-star Maya Avant (Karla Mosley) to work his real-life proposal into the script and surprise her with an engagement ring. But he later called things off after she cheated on him with Rick.

August 12, 2014

Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) eventually made his move and used the Hope for the Future Diamond to ask Hope to marry him. While the couple did make it down the aisle, their marriage fell apart after she miscarried their baby and left Los Angeles to grieve.

August 7, 2018

For a change of pace, it was actually Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) who put the ring on Hope’s finger — after taking it off of her own — as she declared that her longtime rival and Liam belonged together. Afterwards, Liam admitted he wished he’d done it himself, but assured Hope that he wanted to spend his life with her. Unfortunately, their marriage was on shaky ground after their baby died in childbirth, and Thomas stepped in to take advantage.

July 4, 2019

Using Hope’s grief for her lost baby and her love for his son, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) used Douglas (Henry Samiri) to propose by asking her to be his new mommy. Hope accepted, and they did marry, but she refused to sleep with her new husband. Then, after she and Liam learned that their baby hadn’t died but had been stolen — and Thomas knew about it — it was curtains for this short-lived union.

With Thomas temporarily out of the picture, paying for his crimes, Hope was caring for Douglas, who decided to play matchmaker and hold an impromptu wedding ceremony for her and Liam, complete with handmade “bride” and “groom” T-shirts and Baby Beth as a witness. The couple played along with the tyke and later made it legal and official.

Zoe (Kiara Barnes) was shocked when Carter surprised her with an engagement ring, asking her to become more than just his roommate, but before she could answer, the fire alarm in his building went off. Following the interruption, Carter made his case again, and Zoe accepted. But he called off this engagement when Zoe was unable to resist her feelings for Zende.

Declaring his affair with Quinn Forrester a mistake, Carter tried to make a fresh start with Zoe, putting the ring back on her finger. But after the truth about Carter and Quinn was exposed, Zoe dumped him and left town.

June 22, 2022

Still trying to ignore his feelings for Quinn, Carter impulsively proposed to Paris Buckingham (Diamond White), and she excitedly said yes. But her joy turned to sadness when Quinn interrupted their wedding to reveal that her marriage to Eric Forrester was over, and Carter left Paris at the altar.

Despite Liam and Steffy's objections, Hope found herself drawn back into a relationship with Thomas. But when he proposed, she confessed she wasn’t ready for that kind of commitment right now, but promised she loved him and wore the ring as a necklace to keep it close to her heart.

A few months later, Thomas tried again, designing a golden gown for Hope in a grand gesture to pop the question, hoping for a "yes" this time. But when she again balked at actually making it official, he took his sister’s advice and left L.A., returning later to announce he was now engaged to Paris!

Carter and Hope’s relationship has had its ups and downs — especially with their failed takeover of Forrester Creations nearly derailing it completely — but when he proclaimed his undying love and promised she would always come first in his life, Hope happily let him put a ring on it.
