Arriving in Los Angeles after being in a shipwreck, Nick found himself smitten with Brooke and insisted that she deserved better than Ridge, with whom she had recently split (again) after finding out he’d had a romance with her daughter, Bridget.

Brooke discovered she was pregnant, and although the initial DNA test indicated Nick was the father of Brooke’s son, a subsequent one proved that Ridge — who was not dead, after all — was the real baby daddy. Even after he'd previously complained about how Ridge was a cad for romancing both Brooke and Bridget (Ashley Jones), Nick then went ahead and followed in his brother’s footsteps, falling for and marrying Brooke's daughter himself!

Nick’s marriage to Bridget collapsed after their child was stillborn, and she let him go to be with her mother again. Nick crashed Brooke’s wedding to Ridge and literally carried her off to prove his love.

In the end, Nick’s animosity towards the Forresters and his attempt to take over the company that Eric (John McCook) created led Brooke to side with the family, and that proved the end to their short-lived marriage.

However, they split up after it was revealed that the egg used to help them conceive their son, Jack, was donated by Brooke. Nick nearly reunited with the blonde, but once again, she opted for Ridge.

Nick made a special appearance alongside Eric, Thorne (Winsor Harmon), and Bill (Don Diamont) when Brooke dreamt about all the men she’d loved, including Ridge, with whom she soon reunited.

Brooke was stunned when Nick showed up at Forrester Creations out of the blue. After discussing their son, Jack, who was living in Paris, he told her he heard Ridge went back to Taylor and insisted she deserved so much better.
