Kimberly McCullough Debuted on General Hospital as Robin and Other Big Moments from September 6

In 1978, All My Children’s Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Tom Cudahy (Richard Shoberg) wed. Erica's mother, Mona, threatened to reveal Erica's love for Nick Davis if she walked down the aisle with Tom, but stayed mum when her daughter threatened to disown her. The newlyweds were quickly at odds, as she craved the spotlight and he most decidedly did not. They divorced in 1979 after Tom discovered that his wife had been popping birth control pills behind his back.

In 1985, Kimberly McCullough debuted as General Hospital's Robin Scorpio, the secret daughter of Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes). The future Daytime Emmy-winner beat out Shiri Appleby, among others, for the role, and was only 7 years old when she was cast. She told Soap Opera Digest in 2023 that her earliest memories of being on set included "my audition, where I met Finola and Tristan, and I did this improv — I had to get him to eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich without eating it myself. I remember having to wear a lot of white frilly socks. I was a tomboy, a break dancer, and I wore, like, Nike sweatsuits, so the frilly socks took some getting used to!"

In 2016, Kelly Monaco's Sam McCall wed Billy Miller's “Jason Morgan” (who was later revealed to be Drew Cain) on General Hospital. The actress collaborated on the design of her beautiful dress with GH Wardrobe Director Shawn Reeves and his talented seamstress, Maki Chaudhuri, inspired by a look Elizabeth Taylor sported in Cat Hot on a Hot Tin Roof. “Shawn went out and shopped for fabrics, and the three of us picked out the proper fabric, and then Maki went in and did the most beautiful job on a dress that I have worn in all the years that I have been doing this," Monaco gushed to Soap Opera Digest. "It’s the first time I put on a dress and got goose bumps and teary-eyed. I just felt the love and the hard work that went into it and I felt so pretty and special."

In 2024 on Young and Restless, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) made an excuse to rush out after her daughter faith Newman returned home from the hospital following the car accident she was involved in alongside Lucy Romalotti. Her hallucination of Cameron Kirsten (Linden Ashby) told her he approved of where she was going. Sharon then went to confront Lucy and her dad, Daniel Romalotti, along with Heather Stevens, who was helping Daniel raise Lucy. They tried to appease Sharon, who blamed the dangerous situation Faith found herself in on Lucy, but Sharon was not comforted. She made a pointed remark to Daniel about the role he had played in the death of her daughter Cassie, and Cameron was delighted. "Now we're getting somewhere," he smirked.

In 2024, Saturday Night Live star (and avowed General Hospital fan) Sarah Sherman (second from l.) guest-starred on GH as Ms. Finch, the dialect coach who worked with Lois Cerullo to shed her Brooklyn accent. The comedian — pictured here with (from l.) Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn) and Wally Kurth (Ned), posted photos from the set on Instagram and enthused, "brought my mom to General Hospital, met Sonny Corinthos, kiki-ed in the Quartermaine Mansion and can now diiiiiie happy 🧼🫧 I’M A SOAP DIVA NOW, Y’ALL !!! 🫧🧼 "
