In 1994, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (then-Ronn Moss) wed for the first time on Bold and Beautiful. The ceremony took place on the beach at Point Dume in Malibu, with Brooke arriving on horseback to meet her groom as trumpets blared. Among the guests in attendance were the bride's parents, Beth and Stephen Logan; the groom's parents, Eric and Stephanie Forrester; and others such as Sheila Carter Forrester, Dr. James Warwick, and Brooke's sister Katie. The happy couple had no idea that a life-changing obstacle was lying in wait: the groom's "dead" wife, Taylor Hayes, who was actually very much alive but being held captive.

In 2001, Jake McKinnon (Tom Eplin) and Molly Conlan (Lesli Kay) wed on As The World Turns. The minister began the ceremony by introducing the bride's daughter, Abigail, who serenaded the duo with a special song. Before Jake and Molly spoke their personal vows, they separately addressed each other's families, with Jake speaking to Abigail and Molly speaking to Donna and Marley (the mother and sister, respectively, of Jake's late wife, Vicky; both women had also been Jake's lovers, with Jake once being married to Marley himself). The couple was then pronounced husband and wife.

In 2003, Port Charles aired its last episode. The General Hospital spinoff had been on the air since 1997. In the final show, Rafe Kovich, an angel, wed Alison Barrington a mortal, while vampire Caleb Morley (Michael Easton) wed Livvie Locke (Kelly Monaco). Alison thought that she and Rafe were saying, "I do" in a private ceremony for two, but the groom surprised her with her mother, Elizabeth, and their pals. Caleb and Livvie's ceremony was more on the macabre side, with the newlyweds sucking each other's blood after exchanging vows. Before the show faded to black, Livvie made a horrifying realization: Alison was pregnant with Caleb's baby!

In 2014, the late Fred Willard (l.) made his Bold and Beautiful debut as Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) brother, John Forrester. John is the father of Jessica Forrester and Ivy Forrester and in 2024, the show introduced his granddaughter, Electra Forrester. In 2023, McCook raved about working with funnyman Willard, telling Soap Opera Digest, "Fred Willard was my personal favorite. When he walked into the [Forrester living] room, before we had any dialogue, there was the big portrait of Stephanie over the fireplace and he looked past me and said, ‘Yowza,’ and right away I laughed. As a character, he knew Stephanie and didn’t particularly like her and he was a little scared of her and the look on his face when he saw that picture and said that, it was really funny."

In 2022 on Young and Restless, Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) renewed their vows in a ceremony officiated by her brother, Noah (then-Rory Gibson), along with Mariah and Tessa. "We are here to bear witness to Summer and Kyle’s love," said Noah. "Now, I haven’t always had the best understanding of what love should look like. But when I see these two and how hard they fought to be together, to stay together, suddenly it all makes sense to me, wanting the best for one another, growing together, and trusting in each other and that love. It doesn’t get greater than that." After the happy couple recited heartfelt original vows, they, along with their family and friends, suddenly heard the intrusive sounds of a helicopter flying above them, then landing. The interloper was none other than Tucker McCall. "I hope I didn’t miss the festivities," he said. "Tucker McCall," fumed Jack, his former brother-in-law. "What the hell are you doing here?"
