In 1976, General Hospital's Steve Hardy (John Beradino) and Audrey March (Rachel Ames) wed for the second time. They had first tied the knot in 1965, but her inability to conceive put a strain on her marriage, and when she did become pregnant after artificial insemination, she miscarried and filed for divorce. After a series of bad marriages, Audrey overdosed on pills, and Steve nursed her back to health. She returned the favor when he was paralyzed after falling down the stairs at the hospital. Audrey nursed him back to health and the two walked down the aisle to become husband and wife again. Alas, the union was nullified when Audrey's previous hubby, Tom Baldwin, returned from the dead. Steve and Audrey married for the final time in 1977.

In 1999, Nadia Bjorlin debuted as Days of Our Lives's Chloe Lane. The actress revealed when she was a guest on Soap Opera Digest's podcast, Dishing With Digest, that she had done her audition for the show while suffering from second-degree burns she sustained as a result of spilling boiling water on herself. Prior to trying out for DAYS, at the age of 17, she had auditioned for a role on All My Children. Bjorlin played Chloe until 2005, returned from 2007-11, came back in 2013, then returned again from 2016-19 and 2020-23.

In 2003, Young and Restless's Phyllis was shocked to run into her back-in-town ex-husband, Danny Romalotti. The tense reunion took place under the watchful eye of his disapproving sister, Gina, but Danny asked his sister to give him and Phyllis some privacy. Once alone, Phyllis requested, "Tell me about Daniel. Can you tell me about my son?" (At the time, Danny had full custody of the boy.) In 2015, Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) gave birth to her son, Thomas, on Days of Our Lives. The birth was a fairly traumatic one for Abigail, given that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) was holding her hostage at the time in a cabin in Mammoth Falls. After Abigail delivered the baby with the assistance of a midwife, Wendy, Ben killed the midwife. While the child ultimately proved to be Abigail's son by Chad DiMera, at the time of his birth the duo believed that Ben was the father.
