In 1965, John Randolph (Michael M. Ryan) and Pat Matthews (Susan Trustman) said, “I do” on Another World. This was the first wedding to take place on the show, which had premiered in May of the previous year. The ceremony took place in the living room of the Matthews family home. The marriage ended in divorce in 1977.

In 1981, Asa Buchanan (Phil Carey) and Samantha Vernon (Dorian Lopinto) wed on One Life to Live. The wedding had quite the dramatic uninvited guest: Asa's first wife, Olympia, who was not actually dead! Asa had held her prisoner, and her presence threatened to derail the nuptials, but she was nabbed and subdued before she could create too great a disruption and the wedding otherwise went off without a hitch. Samantha later learned that her husband was a bigamist and dumped him.

In 1983, Quint Chamberlain (Michael Tylo) and Nola Reardon (Lisa Brown) tied the knot at a sweet church in the country, taped on location in Haskell, NJ. Because Nola got stranded en route, she arrived at the ceremony in a fire truck. After the ceremony, Quint surprised his new bride with a hot air balloon ride.

In 1986, Duke Lavery (Ian Buchanan) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) shared their first kiss on GH. The smooch took place on the heels of an impassioned discussion the two were having on the subject of expanding the Port Charles harbor. It was Anna's feeling that renovating the waterfront district would invite the presence of organized crime, while Duke was in favor of the proposition and the commerce it would bring to Port Charles. The committee they were both on took a vote, and Anna's side lost by one vote! When Duke then kissed her, she was both furious and titillated.

In 1998 on Bold and Beautiful, Ridge Forrester (then-Ronn Moss) and Taylor Hayes (then-Hunter Tylo) remarried. Brooke Logan, the groom's ex-wife, was in attendance, and she was feeling pretty confident that Ridge would not be able to go through with the wedding due to his lingering feelings for her. During the ceremony, Ridge's eyes locked with Brooke's, but he broke from her gaze and the wedding went off without a hitch. Long after everyone else had left the church, though, a heartbroken Brooke remained, devastated to have lost Ridge for what seemed like it would be for good.
