In 1983, Days of Our Lives’s Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) shared their first kiss. The milestone moment took place during a Fourth of July fundraiser organized by Eugene Bradford. Hope was manning the kissing booth, and Bo purchased two dozen tickets. Initially, he gave Hope a peck on the forehead and teased that she couldn't handle his kiss; she then kissed him on the lips.

In 1993, Young and Restless's Jill (Jess Walton) and John (Jerry Douglas) welcomed their son, William Foster Abbott, better known as Billy. The child was conceived not long after Jill and John remarried, despite John's reluctance to become a father again at his advanced age.

In 2019, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price (Sal Stowers) got engaged on Days of Our Lives. "I have a question for you," Eli said to Lani, who replied, "Shoot." "Lani Price," he continued. "Will you marry me?" Overjoyed, Lani said, "Yes! Yes, Eli Grant, I will marry you!" As if on cue, 4th of July fireworks went off.

In 2024 on Young and Restless, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), who at the time was in a committed relationship with Sally Spectra, and Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who herself was linked to Billy Abbott, got tipsy together in Baltimore, where their mutual concern for their son, Connor, along with their loosened inhibitions led them to have a one-night stand. As Egan explained it to Soap Opera Digest, "They were both in this vulnerable state, and they were the only ones who knew how the other one was feeling at that moment and were really leaning on each other. And when you mixed it up with a lot of booze while in the throes of despair, feelings got really confused, and in soaps, these things happen!”
