Jack And Carly Wed On As The World Turns And Other Events From July 3 In Soap History

In 1989, Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain, with Michael E. Knight as Tad) gave birth to Adam, Jr., later known as JR, on All My Children. She had gotten pregnant by Adam Chandler, who seduced her in hopes of producing a son — despite the fact that he was married to Brooke English at the time.

In 2003, Jack (Michael Park) and Carly (Maura West) remarried in Montana on As The World Turns shortly after they divorced within a year of getting married. This union lasted until 2006, but the popular duo, known as "CarJack" to their fans, tied the knot again in 2010. At the wedding, Jack told his bride, "I love you, Carly. That's the simple answer. Because you make my life make sense. You're the reason why I get up every day, and why I always try to do the right thing. Because no matter how many times we have been tested — and let me tell you, we have been tested — it always comes back to what we found, here in Montana. Life means something when we're together."  

In 2008, Cyndi Lauper guest-starred on As The World Turns. In the storyline, Luke (Van Hansis, l.) interviewed Lauper, who was promoting her new album, Bring Ya To The Brink, and traveling on her True Colors 2008 Tour, for Oakdale University's student paper. Lauper offered to dedicate her performance to Luke and Noah (Jake Silbermann) and entertained the crowd with her songs "Into the Night Life" and "True Colors." Noah then told Luke that they belonged together and they kissed.

In 2009, General Hospital's Lulu (then-Julie Marie Berman) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) met for the first time at Jake's. At the time, Dante was undercover and using the name Dominic Pirelli. The duo went on to marry twice, once in 2011 and once in 2016; they finalized their second divorce in 2019. When she exited the role of Lulu in 2013, Julie Marie Berman mused to Soaps In Depth, "Dante is the best match for Lulu to date. He accepts Lulu in her totality. Flaws and all. And he makes her laugh."

In 2013, Jen Lilley (pictured with Casey Moss as JJ Deveraux) debuted on Days of Our Lives as Theresa Donovan, daughter of supercouple Kimberly Brady Donovan and Shane Donovan. Prior to joining the Salem ranks, the actress had temporarily assumed the role of Maxie Jones on General Hospital from Kirsten Storms from September 2011 to August 2012. Lilley played Theresa until 2016, then reprised the role for three months in 2018. She last appeared on DAYS in September 2023 before Emily O'Brien took over as Theresa. In 2015, she recalled to Soap Opera Digest that on her first day on the job as Theresa, "I baked pumpkin bread for the cast and crew. When I have the time, I love baking and pumpkin bread is probably my favorite thing to make. I thought it would be a nice thing to do because on soaps we don’t have craft services. People were so welcoming and friendly and they loved the pumpkin bread!"
