In 1994, All My Children’s Tad Martin (Michael E. Knight) reunited with sister Jenny Gardner Nelson (Kim Delaney) in heaven. Tad's trip to the afterlife occurred when he was gravely injured in the tornado that swept through Pine Valley. Tad ultimately recovered and returned to the land of the living. Jenny's appearance marked the first time Delaney had appeared on AMC since she exited as Jenny in 1984 after a three-year run.

In 1997, Jensen Ackles made his Days of Our Lives debut as Eric Brady, Roman and Marlena's son and Sami's twin. Ackles was the first actor to play the role after he was aged up to a young adult. He remained with the show until 2000, when the character left town. Eric returned in 2012 in the form of Greg Vaughan. During his time on DAYS, Ackles took home a Soap Opera Digest Award (in 1998, for Best Male Newcomer) and received three Daytime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.

In 1998, Don Diamont returned to Young and Restless as Brad Carlton after a two-year absence. Diamont, who joined the Genoa City ranks in 1985, remained with the show until 2009, when Brad was killed off. The actor quickly rebounded by landing his current role, Bill Spencer on Bold and Beautiful.

There, rival fashion houses Spectra and Forrester took part in a charity design showdown where they debuted their summer swimwear collections. "May the best fashion house win!" declared Steffy.
