For the past 14 years, Bold and Beautiful has been an annual sponsor of the Thanksgiving feast served to the homeless at the Union Rescue Mission, located on the streets of Skid Row in Los Angeles.

Giving Back

If the Union Rescue Mission (aka URM) sounds familiar, you may be remembering one of the soap’s storylines from 2010: In the advanced stages of lung cancer and refusing treatment, Stephanie visited Skid Row and decided to use what time she had left to help those less fortunate. The soap taped multiple scenes at the mission — hiring numerous homeless people to tell their stories to Stephanie on-camera and even more to appear as background extras —  that aired over several episodes that October. One of those heartbreaking episodes won B&B the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2011.

Year after year, cast members from B&B return to Skid Row to help URM serve a Thanksgiving meal to the community. Check out the photo gallery from this year’s event, which took place on Nov. 23.
