Kristian Alfonso (Hope, DAYS)
“Being in awe of Susan [Seaforth Hayes, Julie] and Bill [Hayes, Doug]. And Frances Reid [ex-Alice], watching her in the hospital set and not knowing how this incredible experience happened to me. It was such a gift. I watched DAYS OF OUR LIVES when I would come home from school before heading to the ice rink or a dance lesson or whatever it was, and here I am on it playing Susan and Bill’s daughter; that was huge for me. I was just a little girl from Easton [MA].”

(Lani, DAYS)
“I just remember being so overwhelmed and so nervous. It’s funny to look back because I was so intimidated in a way, but also so excited. I was working with Galen [Gering, Rafe]. He was very welcoming. Everybody was. I remember Kate Mansi [Abigail] coming up to me and just hugging me and being like, ‘Anything you need. I want to be friends.’ Her and Camila [Banus, Gabi] did that. It was just a great welcome.”

Ryan Carnes
(Lucas, GH)
“I don’t remember when I first started in 2004, but I do remember my first day when I came back in 2014, and a couple of things stand out. One, I remembered thinking, ‘Wow, the show moves even faster than it did when I was here nine years ago!’ And the other memory I have from that day came later, when I saw a screenshot of the episode on Twitter and finally realized it: I had the worst mullet! I was like, ‘What is happening with my hair? And why didn’t anybody tell me?’ ”

Darin Brooks (Wyatt, B&B)
“You mean, other than being naked in the woods taking a solar shower? I will never forget that. What Brad [Bell, executive producer/head writer] made me do that day will never escape my memory. They give you this little flesh-colored Speedo and I was like, ‘Since we can’t show anything anyway, could I wear a little bit more clothing?’ They said, ‘No, we’re shooting you from behind a leaf,’ and I said, ‘Just make it a big leaf, please. How about a banana palm frond?’ ”

“I just remember how grateful I was. I couldn’t believe how quickly my life had changed. I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to be on a set with such a talented production team and people who care so much about the work and care about the actors and care about your opinions and how you think and feel.”

Greg Rikaart (Kevin, Y&R)
“I was wearing a Hawaiian shirt as Kevin, so during rehearsal, the crew walked through the coffeehouse in Hawaiian shirts, pretending to be Lily’s date. At first, I wasn’t quite in on the joke and then I went, ‘Oh, this seems like a fun place! People know how to have a good laugh here!’ ”

(Martin, GH)
“I was nervous — very nervous. I was also intimidated because when they send you the script, you get the breakdown [of the shooting schedule], so you see what these people do in a day, and it’s epic. But working with Chloe Lanier [Nelle] made the day really, really fun for me. Working with her was just a thrill. I was looking at her going, ‘How do they find them this talented, this young?’ ”
