After Lily teased unconscious Colleen for being a “drama queen,” the doctor came in and asked Sharon, Jack and Lily to keep it to one visitor at a time. They left so that he could do some tests on her and ran into Brad, who was anxious to see his daughter. Victor held him back and Sharon explained that the doctors were checking to see if she could breathe on her own. When J.T. came in, Brad went on the attack and J.T. apologized for not protecting Colleen. The doc came in right after and said the chances she’d breathe on her own were “not as good as they were yesterday.” Victor questioned him while Brad and Victoria went into the room. Watching them, Jack reminded Sharon, “Where there is life, there is hope.” Brad kissed his daughter, but was too emotional to speak, so his wife spoke for him. “I love you so much,” he finally chimed in. “And I’m so sorry.” He told her they’d solved the case of the reliquary, thanks to her and Korbel, and he and Victoria both apologized for not trusting her judgment about the professor. All Brad wanted was for his daughter to wake up and say, “I told you so.” When he left her, he found Sharon. “I’m so glad you’re here,” he whispered. He felt guilty for being away when his daughter needed him, but she reminded him that she and Jack had stood in for him. Victor and Victoria arrived just in time to catch them in a comforting hug.
While J.T. and Jack were grumbling over Kevin’s guilt (“character is destiny” Jack maintained), Kev was in his hospital bed talking to Lauren. He bemoaned having trusted Jana and foolishly believing she’d left him because of his past. Then he asked Lauren to tell Colleen something, but when Lauren went to see Colleen, Jack stopped her. He verbally abused her and Michael. When Michael asked him to tell Brad’s family that their hearts went out to them, Jack responded, “Your heart? I’d say anyone related to Kevin fisher is lacking in that department.” When he left, Lauren told Michael she had to deliver her message and said, “I know that Kevin is innocent.” When she got to Colleen, she forwarded his message. “He wants you to know that he’s praying for you,” she said, and pled for a miracle. “We need you to wake up and tell everyone the truth.”
Across the hall, Kevin filled Daniel in on Jana’s betrayal and her plot to set him up for Colleen’s murder, all for “buried treasure.” “The only thing your guilty of is falling for the wrong woman,” Daniel maintained, and he was confident that Colleen would wake up and clear his name. Kevin admitted that during Jana’s attack, he’d figured he was getting what he deserved. When he mentioned that Jana took credit for killing Carmen, Daniel was suddenly anxious for Colleen to wake up and clear Devon. He immediately left and told Lily the big news, but J.T. tried to burst his bubble by informing him that Kevin had Colleen’s, Carmen’s and Jana’s licenses in his wallet. Daniel wasn’t swayed. Then Devon joined the group and Lily explained why she was convinced of Kevin’s guilt. Devon was surprised and unsure. All that mattered to Lily (aside from her best friend’s condition) was that Devon was going to be cleared.
Kevin was released from the hospital, only to be arrested by the district attorney for “the attempted murder of Colleen Carlton.” Everyone went nuts. Gloria had to be held back as she snarled at Will, “I thought that you were a good man!” Michael told Kevin to stay calm, but things only got worse when Devon burst in demanding, “I want to hear you say the words, okay? Say to me, ‘I killed Carmen and I was going to let you go down for it, Devon.'” Everyone denied it and Michael escorted Devon out of the room. Devon nailed the lawyer for not including Kevin in his list of “alternative perps.” When he asked Michael to swear he wasn’t “leading him on just to protect Kevin,” Michael almost lost it. He grabbed Devon by the collar and swore he hadn’t played Devon. He begged him to keep an open mind, but Devon shrugged him off and walked away. That left Jack an opening to come in and crow over Kevin’s arrest, but Michael stormed off with the upper hand after shooting, “Your father’s gone. Billy, Abby, Ashley — they’re thousands of miles away. Who really cares about you, baby? If I could summon any emotion towards you, it would be pity.” Jack wanted to follow, but Victor held him back. As Kevin was led away in handcuffs, everyone watched, moving towards him. Then Brad came out of nowhere and sucker punched him!
Clad in a sexy, low-cut dress, Phyllis sang baby Summer and baby Fen to sleep. Before getting in the shower, Nick teased that the kids were faking sleep because her singing sucked, and Summer woke up to prove him right. When she lifted Summer’s teddy bear, she found a receipt for a Girabaldi Gallery and Gifts. Not one for surprises, she called to find out “the item and the cost of the purchase.” Then, she gave her hubby a framed picture of herself — that she’d taken from his bedside — and asked for her gift. The more she pushed, the more uncomfortable he got. She was crushed to hear it wasn’t for her, but he was in trouble when he said it was for Sharon. He called it a peace offering, along the lines of the nursery that Jack had put in at work for Phyllis. Then he offered her hot cocoa, but that peace offering didn’t measure up to Sharon’s gift. Phyllis was slightly calmed when he said it was a figurine of a mother and daughter, in honor of Cassie, but then he revealed he’d been inspired to get the gift because it was his and Sharon’s eleventh anniversary. To make up, he went out and got the makings of a “monster banana split” to eat in bed, but she wouldn’t even look at him. He swore she need not be jealous, which upset her more. Then he tried his “you’re cute when you’re mad” tactic, which didn’t work either, so he apologized. She figured he was apologizing for getting caught, but he understood that he was a “big jerk.” She wasn’t moved until he said, “Marry me — again,” and she was over it by the time he offered her his pile of wedding magazines.
Cane was sorry he couldn’t remember his wedding or anything after his “wife” and Alison’s quasi-pole dancing routine. Amber took it in stride (since it was a scam!), jumping on the bed and playfully reenacting their faux wedding wearing his rugby shirt. Cane then gave her an out, since he’d been so drunk, but she didn’t take it, so they consummated their marriage. In post-coital bliss, Amber slipped up and sighed that it was “worth waiting for.” Cane reminded her that she’d said that when they woke up. She covered, saying the morning romp was a “do-over.” He also reminded her that he didn’t love her and gave her another out. She feigned anger, insisting she married him so he wouldn’t be deported and accusing him of marrying her to get into her “knickers.” He apologized and she agreed to stay married in name only. “That means no sex,” she said, exposing her leg seductively. He responded by mounting her and they had another fulfilling round. After Amber showered, she was upset to find her new hubby gone. She was dressed and pacing when he returned with a wedding gift: her own rugby jersey.
