When Does Ryan Paevey Return to General Hospital? His First Airdate Revealed!
Fans of General Hospital have been eagerly anticipating the return of Ryan Paevey to the Port Charles landscape since his comeback was first announced in August. At the time, the show was staying coy about exactly when he would be seen on air again, confirming only that it was sometime in September. Now, however, GH has revealed the actor’s first airdate!
The Fall Guy
In a cheeky new video posted across its official social channels, GH showed Finola Hughes (Anna) walking outside of the studio, seemingly so focused on her phone that she nearly bumped into Paevey, who is holding a script. Surprised to see him, Hughes asks what he was doing there. “I work here,” the actor replies. “Uh, at GH?” prods Hughes. Paevey nods yes and confirms again when Hughes clarifies, “You work here?”
“I thought you left,” Hughes then whispers conspiratorially. “I did,” he says in a hushed tone. “But I came back.” Hughes takes that in, then points to his script and asks, “Are you studying lines?” “Yeah,” he answers. “For our show?” she presses. Paevey reiterates that yes, he’s back at GH.
Hughes then gets down to business, asking, “When are you on?” “Friday!” he says. “This Friday?” she questions. “This Friday,” he nods. As in Friday, September 19!
“Oh, my God,” Hughes marvels. She then leans in to ask her co-star, “Who are you playing?” Paevey shushes her and says, “I can’t tell you that. It’s a secret.”

As fans who’ve been following the story of Paevey’s return know, the show originally did not say whether the actor would be reprising his original role, Nathan West, the heroic police officer who died in the line of duty when he was shot dead by his own father, Cesar Faison, in 2018. The show’s head writers, Elizabeth Korte and Chris Van Etten, hinted that Nathan was receiving a resurrection in the fall preview it gave to TV Insider — but also hinted at a potential twist, given that Anna Devane can’t help but wonder if something funny is going on given that Nathan’s sister, Britt, also recently turned up alive after her own on-screen demise two years ago. The scribes said, “Twin miracles — the returns of Britt and Nathan — feel more like twin omens to Anna. To her mind, there’s only one person who could’ve saved them both from death — Cesar Faison. Anna’s fall is about learning the truth behind their survival. But the more questions she asks, the closer she is to danger.”
