What Happened to Scout on General Hospital

Scout on General Hospital is an adorable little girl who has already been through quite a lot in her young life! When she was born in 2017, the role was played by a series of twins, including Lori and Sevan Andonian and Palmer and Poe Parker. In July 2019, the character was recast again, this time with Ella Ramacieri, who appeared until December 2021. Then, in September 2022, Cosette Abinante made her debut as Drew and Sam’s little girl and continues to play her to this day. Emily Scout Cain was named after her aunt, Emily Quartermaine, though she goes by her middle name, Scout. She had a very dramatic birth as Olivia Jerome kidnapped Sam McCall and pushed her off a bridge, sending her into labor. Jason Morgan managed to locate her in time and helped deliver his baby girl. She wasn’t breathing when she was born, but Jason managed to perform CPR and save her life. Paramedics arrived and rushed mother and daughter to the hospital, where Scout was given a clean bill of health, but Sam was rushed into surgery to stop some internal bleeding. Sam fell into a coma, but when Jason placed the newborn infant on her chest, she finally woke up. The parents then decided to name her Emily Scout Morgan. They also chose Carly Corinthos and Sonny Corinthos to be Scout’s godparents.

When Sam was diagnosed with Toxoplasmosis, it was feared that Scout could have it as well, since Sam contracted it the night she gave birth, but thankfully, her tests came back normal. Scout’s world later turned upside down when Jason returned to Port Charles, and it was revealed that her father was actually his twin brother, Drew Cain! However, she was so young that it didn’t really register. But when Drew was presumed dead in a plane crash in 2019, Scout was old enough to miss her daddy. In 2021, just as Scout was adjusting to her mom beginning a new relationship with Dante Falconeri, it turned out that her father had survived and was being held prisoner. When Drew came home to Port Charles, Scout was initially wary, but as they decorated a Christmas tree and later celebrated New Year’s together, she soon warmed up to her dad and was happy to have him back.

As she grew older, Scout had to learn to process that her parents had new people in their lives. She’d gotten used to Dante living with her and Sam, but wondered who her daddy had. Sam promised Scout that Drew always had them. Unfortunately, in June 2023, Drew was sentenced to three years in prison for insider trading!

Sam and Drew agreed not to let Scout visit him in prison or when he was in the hospital after being nearly beaten to death by other inmates. Scout joined the other children of Port Charles at a special Halloween party, after which Drew surprised everyone with his early release! Scout was happy to have her daddy back, and played along when he talked about sending her to an expensive private boarding school, but later confessed to her mom she didn’t want to go.

As 2024 began, Scout had a nightmare on New Year’s Eve where her new school teacher was a monster and admitted that she was afraid to go. Sam reassured her daughter that she didn’t have to go to Westwood Academy if she didn’t want to. In March, Drew and Carly threw a birthday party for Scout at the Quartermaine mansion with all the family in attendance. In July, Drew announced his candidacy for Congress and also that he was changing his last name to Quartermaine. Scout was excited to go from Cain to Quartermaine as well.

In October, Sam announced to the family that she was a match for Lulu and would be donating part of her liver to save Lulu’s life. Scout was worried about her mother, but Sam promised she’d be fine, and she and Dante explained the operation to reassure the girl. While Sam came through the operation fine, she later suffered a fatal heart attack and tragically passed away.

In May 2025, Scout joined Georgie, Donna, Wiley, and James on stage at the Nurses Ball to perform a song. And in July, she was excited to be the flower girl at Drew’s wedding to Willow Tait, though the ceremony was called off by the bride-to-be. Scout then found herself missing her family as Drew planned to move to Washington, D.C., and take her with him.
