TWIN PEAKS IS BACK!
TWIN PEAKS, the moody, cult-hit primetime sudser that aired on ABC from 1990-91, is returning to television and will premiere on SHOWTIME in 2016 as a limited-run, nine-episode series timed to the 25th anniversary of its debut.
In making the announcement, SHOWTIME stated, "Series creators and executive producers David Lynch and Mark Frost will write and produce all nine episodes of the limited series, and Lynch will direct every episode. Set in the present day, TWIN PEAKS will continue the lore of the original series, providing long-awaited answers and a satisfying conclusion for the series’ passionate fan base.”
Among the cast of the original series was Ray Wise (Ian, Y&R), whose character, Leland Palmer, was killed off, but also appeared as a doppelgänger, and Ian Buchanan (Duke, GH).
