INTERVIEW

Tuesday Fast Five With Peter Bergman

What’s your favorite way to procrastinate? “Sailing. I can’t deal with anything once I’m out there. It’ll just have to wait because I’m not on shore.”

What’s the most memorable argument you lost to your wife? “It was the first argument that Mariellen and I ever had.  We were in a taxi cab in New York City, 38 years ago, and I said that when we have kids, I didn’t want a TV in the house. She said, ‘What?! You work in television. That’s the stupidest thing I ever heard!’ I lost that argument in the biggest way because we have a TV in every room of our house.”

How do you like your eggs? “Over easy. Not as runny as sunny side up and no hard yolks.”

Do you collect anything? “I have a few little collections. I have a collection of antique silver sterling cigarette cases.”

If you had to change just your first name, what would you choose? “I skied with a friend the other weekend and his oldest son is named Woody. I thought, ‘That’s a great handle!’ ”
