The Young and The Restless Alum Jordi Vilasuso’s Beyond the Gates First Air Date, Character Details Revealed

Comments

Daytime veteran Jordi Vilasuso has added another soap role to his lengthy resume now that he’s joined the cast of Beyond the Gates. News of his new gig broke back on December 23, 2025, and as his debut on CBS’s newest soap nears, the actor has shared more details about who he’ll be playing and when fans can first expect to see him make his triumphant return to the daytime lineup.

A Different World

In a new inteview with TV Insider, it was revealed that Vilasuso will be playing a character named Grayson Perez, and his first episode will air on Tuesday, January 13. “He’s a lab tech, and he’s got a very good heart,” the actor previewed. “He’s been raised by a single parent for some time, and now the roles have changed because he has to take care of his mother. And he goes to great lengths; I’ll just leave it at that.”

In 2025, the actor moved to Nashville with his wife, Kaitlin, and their children, Riley (13), Everly (9), and Lucy (2), so Vilasuso appreciates that BTG’s studio is located in Atlanta, GA, just a few hours’ drive from his home. The commute is working out perfectly for the devoted family man. “Sometimes my call time is 2 p.m.,” he shared, “and I’ll leave Nashville at 8 a.m., come here, finish, and then go back, and I get to see my kids.”

The actor is also excited to become a part of the cast of daytime’s newest drama. “It’s just such a great group,” he enthused about his new co-stars. “And it’s so interesting to be on a show that’s just starting. Everybody’s here helping something grow and wanting it to do really well.”

As fans saw when Vilasuso made a brief appearance in the trailer BTG released to promote its second season, his Grayson will be interacting with Ashley Morgan, played by Jen Jacob. Vilasuso had high praise for the actress, reporting, “When I did the chemistry read, I was like, ‘Wow, this would be so great. If I get to work with her, I’m going to be happy.’ And it worked out. She’s just such a pro, works very hard, and I’ll be honest, that hasn’t always been the case with costar.”

But from the sounds of it, it seems like the character Vilasuso plays will be busy in other places of the canvas as well. He hinted, “I feel like there’s an opportunity here for Grayson to go in a lot of different directions.”

The actor comes to BTG nearly 26 years after he made his daytime debut playing Tony Santos on Guiding Light (2000-03), a role for which he won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor. He went on to play Dr. Griffin Castillo on All My Children from 2010-11, as well as in the 2013 online revival, then portrayed Dario Hernandez on Days of Our Lives from 2016-17, and Rey Rosales on Young and Restless from 2018-22.
