REACTIONS FROM DAYS’S DAYTIME NOMINEES
With 16 Daytime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, DAYS is a festive set today. Digest spoke exclusively with nominees Camila Banus (Gabi), Freddie Smith (Sonny) and Peggy McCay (Caroline) to get their reaction. “It’s kind of surreal,” shares Smith, who is in the Outstanding Younger Actor category. “It hasn’t really sunk in yet. I am super-excited and getting lots of love from everyone.” Banus, on the list for Outstanding Younger Actress, revealed, “I was so excited I started jumping up and down. The scenes that I submitted [Gabi confesses to killing Nick] meant so much to me. It felt like so many people were behind them, and I put so much into those scenes, so when I heard I was nominated I was very happy.” Outstanding Lead Actress nominee McCay submitted Caroline’s speech at Will and Sonny’s wedding. “The whole episode of Will and Sonny’s wedding was groundbreaking,” she shares. “I was pleased and thrilled to be a part of it and to receive a nomination.”
