MORE DAYTIME EMMY NOMINEE REACTIONS
Lead Actress Gina Tognoni (Phyllis, Y&R) nominee reports, "I had a dentist appointment and ran home after that. Then I turned on the TV and heard the nomination. I’m really psyched and I’m just so grateful!” Tognoni says she was taken aback by severl omissions. "I was surprised that about Cady [McClain, Kelly] because she’s so good. And of course Peter [Bergman, Jack]. He’s so celebrated and he really is a big part of what I submitted. He’s so incredible to work with and I couldn’t do this without him."
Supporting Actor nom Kristoff St. John (Neil) tells us, "It’s a wonderful feeling. You take these things with a grain of salt but it’s a great feeling to be part of the pack.” Former Y&R star and Supporting Actress nominee Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) says, "I was gardening and then I picked up my phone and there was a text that said, ‘Congratulations!’ It was a very pleasant surprise. I’m so excited to see all my Y&R friends again." She wishes that co-star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) had made the cut. "I was eally bummed not to see Missy up there. Her work was really bold and interesting.”
GH's first-time Supporting Actress nominee Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) says, "I found out from Frank [Valentini, executive producer] calling to congratulate me. It's such a huge honor. And speaking of huge [the pregnant actress is close to beginning her maternity leave], you will not miss me on the red carpet!" "Super Excited!!!!! Thank you guys!!! And Woo Hoo to all the nominees!!!!" tweeted Laura Wright (Carly, GH), who is up for Lead Actress. "Thank you everyone for your support and @DaytimeEmmys for my second nomination, very grateful," tweeted Wright's on-screen son Bryan Craig (Morgan, a Younger Actor contender). "GUYS I CANT STOP CRYING IM SO HAPPY," exulted Haley Pullos (GH's Molly, a first-time nominee for Younger Actress). DAYS's Guy Wilson (Will) tweeted about his Younger Actor-nominated on-screen husband, Freddie Smith (Sonny), saying, "Massive congrats to my spirit animal @freddiesmith for his daytime Emmy nomination!!! So, so deserved!!!"
