Kin Shriner Addresses His General Hospital Absence: ‘I Don’t Fit in There’
Two years after his last appearance as Scott Baldwin on General Hospital, Kin Shriner is still fielding questions about why he is absent from Port Charles. On August 22, the actor posted on X (formerly Twitter) in response to a fan query about his status with the soap, writing simply, “I don’t fit in there.”
What Is Kin Shriner Doing Now?
Kin Shriner has come and gone from GH multiple times since he joined the show in 1977, but his most recent exit appears to be definitive. Scott was last seen on screen in the August 16, 2024 episode where his plan to protect the pharmacist who had tampered with Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) bipolar meds failed, and he took off to save his own skin.
The character was recently mentioned on July 30, when his daughter, Serena (Kelly Kruger), arrived back in Port Charles and revealed that Scott was “living his best life in Key West.”
While Shriner’s loyal fans have never stopped advocating for his return, there has been renewed interest ever since Serena came home. Watching her reconnect with her mother, Lucy (Lynn Herring), they felt the absence of her father on the canvas was more pronounced than ever, wishing she could have both of her parents in her life.
Over on X, Shriner has continued interacting with his fans, sharing vintage photos from his career and updating them on his life in Florida, his current home. Back on August 2, the actor commemorated the anniversary of his GH debut by posting a photo of an old magazine article “introducing” him to fans side-by-side with a video of his current self donning a stylish pair of sunglasses. “I turned up on @GeneralHospital 49 years ago today,” he wrote, “thanks to all u fans.”
