Jacob Young Pays Tribute to All My Children on the 15th Anniversary of its Finale
All My Children aired its final episode on ABC on September 23, 2011, and on the 15th anniversary of that broadcast, Jacob Young, who played JR Chandler from 2003 until the finale, spoke out on social media to pay tribute to the much-missed daytime drama.

Young responded in the comments to an Instagram post marking the anniversary of the day ABC aired AMC’s final episode after 41 years on the air. “It’s hard to believe it’s been 15 years since All My Children left the air,” he wrote. “Playing JR Chandler was such an important chapter of my life, and I will always be incredibly grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of the Pine Valley Family.
“What made All My Children so special wasn’t just the stories we told, but the people who told them and the audience who welcomed us into their homes every single day,” the actor continued. “These characters became part of people’s lives, and in many ways, they became part of ours too.”
Young then expressed his gratitude to the late Agnes Nixon, the legendary creator of All My Children. “A very special thank you to the incomparable Agnes Nixon, whose vision created All My Children and gave all of us the extraordinary gift of Pine Valley,” he wrote. “Her storytelling was fearless, compassionate, groundbreaking, and always deeply human. I will forever be grateful that I had the chance to help bring one of her characters to life. To my castmates, our incredible crews, writers, producers, directors, and especially the fans who supported JR and all of us through every twist and turn — thank you.”
Young also marveled at how even after all these years, AMC lives on in the hearts of everyone who loved it. “Fifteen years later, we are still celebrating this show, these characters, and these memories,” he said. “That says everything. Some shows simply end. Others stay with you forever.”
He concluded by declaring, “Pine Valley will always have a special place in my heart. ❤️”
