Martha Byrne’s (Lily, AS THE WORLD TURNS) 11th Annual Daytime Salutes St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital benefit is coming up soon, but there’s
still time to get tickets for the event, which will feature stars from
almost every soap. “I don’t sleep much now. I wake up in the middle of the
night worrying about details,” laughs Byrne, whose organizational duties
range from from securing prizes to arranging car service for L.A. actors who
are flying in for the evening. “But I just have to remind myself why we do
this. It’s totally worth it. Everyone always shows up and has a good time.
We’ve changed a lot this year. We have a lot of surprises, and I think
people will be happy. We increased the ticket price, unfortunately, because
the hotel always goes up. I always want to keep the costs to the hospital at
zero. It doesn’t usually happen, but that’s my dream. I feel like the fans
get a lot for their money, especially here. Everything is included: dinner,
drinks, entertainment. You can’t get much for 200 bucks in New York City
anymore. I just want everybody to have fun. I’ll have a few more gray hairs
by then, but it’s nothing a little dye can’t fix!” Look on our events page
