General Hospital Recap: Ronnie Says Goodbye, Tracy Gets Her Wish and (Spoiler) Arrives in Port Charles!

Comments

Big changes were afoot in the November 6 episode of General Hospital! Josslyn (Eden McCoy) got a new assignment from Jack (Chris McKenna) that came a little too close to home, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) made a big decision about his future with Lucas (Van Hansis) that could put the doctor in grave danger, Portia (Brook Kerr) found herself blackmailed again, this time by Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and the Quartermaines were reunited after Tracy (Jane Elliot) made peace with Ronnie (Erika Slezak) before she left town. Here are all the details:

Spy Games

During a meeting with his agents, Jack informed Josslyn and Vaughn that since they don’t know who was running the Five Poppies operation, Sidwell was their next target. When Vaughn figured Sidwell would spot their agent coming, Josslyn suggested they get to him through Marco instead. Brennan agreed and ordered Josslyn to get closer to Marco through her uncle, Lucas. Vaughn pointed out that, thanks to Colette, Sidwell likely knew that Joss was a WSB agent, and laughed sardonically when Brennan instructed Joss to have contact only with Lucas and Marco so as not to arouse Sidwell’s suspicion. Frustrated, Josslyn demanded to know if all of her assignments would involve lying to her family and wondered if there was a way to keep her uncle out of it. Jack reminded her that if Faison’s project comes to fruition, Lucas would be one of innumerable casualties and questioned if she was incapable of doing her job because she didn’t want to lie to her uncle. Relenting, Joss exited Jack’s office with a promise to keep him and Vaughn apprised.

After Josslyn left, Vaughn shared his concern that there were many unknown variables that made the job too dangerous for the rookie agent. When Jack accused Vaughn of letting his personal feelings cloud his judgment, underestimating Josslyn’s capabilities, Vaughn shot back that Jack was overestimating her skills. Putting an end to their back-and-forth, Jack shouted that Josslyn understood that stopping Faison’s project was imperative, and if gaining access to Marco was their only way in, they had to take it. They were then interrupted by a phone call. “Jack, it’s Anna,” came the voice on the other end of the line. “Something’s happened.”

Crowded House

With the election coming up, Jordan updated Sidwell and Marco that the public was still divided on Measure C, so Marco proposed they call in favors to sway votes in their direction to help obtain Sonny’s piers. Then, Pascal — the baddie who nearly killed Britt, Vaughn, Britt and Jason at the Five Poppies — entered, and Sidwell introduced him to Jordan as Wyndemere’s new butler. After serving a tray of coffee, Pascal left them to their meeting.

In case the vote didn’t go their way, Jordan recommended that Sidwell consider another property along the waterfront, but he was adamant about getting Sonny’s piers. The most effective legal route to take down Sonny was through the election, Sidwell added, and since he’d failed to sway Mayor Collins to withdraw her support from the mobster, he’d have to find another way to persuade her while Marco and Jordan saw the campaign through to the end. Pascal then returned to the room, and  Marco and Sidwell looked on in confused amusement as Jordan complimented him in perfect French on his coffee and welcomed him to Port Charles.

Later, alone with his father, Marco questioned if it was wise to bring Pascal to Port Charles. Praising the way Pascal had run the Five Poppies, Sidwell pointed out to his son that they would need a new strategy if the election results weren’t what they hoped. “Which is right in Pascal’s wheelhouse,” he noted. Changing the subject, Marco told his father that he’d like to ask Lucas to move into Wyndemere with them. While happy his son’s relationship was going well, Sidwell didn’t think it was a good idea since most of Port Charles thought they were law-abiding citizens when they were anything but. It was better to keep his boyfriend at a distance, Sidwell reasoned, since Faison’s final project was illegal and their plan to obliterate Sonny directly affected Lucas’s family. Pascal eavesdropped from the other side of the door as Marco continued to plead his case for having Lucas move in, saying that he was falling in love with Dr. Jones. Later, when Sidwell announced that the estate was getting a new resident, Pascal expressed his concerns, and Jenz urged him to keep an eye on Lucas. “Because should Lucas learn something he shouldn’t,” he noted, “well, given his ties to the community,  he will need to be dealt with.”

The Right Time

At the penthouse, Ava told Lucas that as much as she’d enjoyed having him as a roommate, it was time for him to get his own place. Lucas confided that Marco had been hinting they should move in together, but he was worried it was too soon in their relationship to take that step. Then, Lucas explained how he’d been a workaholic while living in Boston, and once he moved back to Port Charles, he’d reconnected with Brad and thought they might be able to be friends. Ava nearly choked on her coffee when Lucas divulged that the only reason he and Brad didn’t hook up during their conference in Miami was because his ex had admitted to blackmailing Portia, and Marco had been there to pick up the pieces. Because there was no time between his relationships with the two men, Lucas was worried that Carly had been right in claiming Marco was just a rebound. When he stated that he didn’t feel it was fair to Marco to take that step if he was unsure their relationship was going to work out, Ava told her nephew that the only guarantee was that if he didn’t choose to move on, he never would.

Following her meeting with Brennan, Josslyn went to see Lucas at Ava’s place. He relayed to Joss that he realized he should be more like Ava and take more risks in his life. They were about to head into the kitchen for breakfast when Marco knocked on the door to announce, “I think we should move in together.”

An Offer You Can’t Refuse

In an attempt to butter up Portia before asking for a favor, Britt brought the co-chief of staff a coffee from Bobbie’s, but Portia passed in favor of her ginger tea. She also passed on sponsoring Britt’s to regain her medical license, given that her colleague had faked her own death. Britt maintained that her going into hiding was for personal reasons, and she wanted to practice medicine while she was feeling healthy, but Portia still saw it as fraud. When Britt swore she was committed to sticking around town, Portia suggested they revisit the subject in six months. Seeing through Portia’s act, Britt declared that timeline didn’t work for her, given that Portia would be on maternity leave then. Portia was caught off guard since she hadn’t yet announced her pregnancy, but Britt pointed out that, as an OB/GYN, she knew all the signs.

When Portia explained that she wanted to keep the pregnancy private until she was out of the first trimester, Britt agreed that was very important — as was having a renowned physician sponsoring a doctor trying to get reaccredited to practice medicine. “Right. So I agree to act as your sponsor, and you keep your mouth shut about my pregnancy?” Portia questioned. Playing it off as Portia’s idea, Britt praised her boss for being a great problem-solver. Portia reluctantly went along with the plan, but warned Britt that eventually, her leverage would disappear when her pregnancy became public knowledge, so she needed to “straighten up and fly right” or else she’d ruin her chances with the licensing board.

Private Investigating

At Alexis’s, the attorney explained that she wanted to hire Felicia to investigate Portia’s whereabouts the night of Drew’s shooting. Felicia acknowledged that Portia could be a potential suspect, given the bad blood between Curtis and Drew, and that the doctor had been furious when Drew had Stella investigated for fraud. Insisting she was just looking for information, Alexis shared that if Portia was on call the night of the shooting, then it was a non-issue, but if there wasn’t an alibi, she wanted Felicia to keep digging. Felicia agreed to look into it as much as she could without violating HIPAA. Before Felicia left, Alexis asked about Maxie, and Felicia tearfully shared how they’d celebrated her birthday the night before. Felicia then offered her sympathies on the anniversary of Sam’s death, and the women shared a comforting embrace.

Sorry, Not Sorry

Having invited Ronnie to the house, Tracy was looking through old photographs while waiting for Monica’s sister to arrive. When she did, Tracy awkwardly tried to make small talk, but Ronnie directed her to cut to the chase, knowing that the family wasn’t going to forgive Tracy until she apologized. Ronnie glared as Tracy bumbled her way through a halfhearted apology, still blaming Monica’s sister for trying to swindle the family and not taking any ownership of her own actions.

Ronnie refused to accept Tracy’s insincere apology, but volunteered to tell her family that she’d issued one. Tracy told her to get to it, further frustrating Ronnie. When Ronnie noted that she was grateful the rest of the Quartermaines had forgiven her and welcomed her into the family, Tracy snarked that it was a gesture she didn’t deserve. Ronnie then fumed that she’d owned up to her mistake, while Tracy hadn’t taken responsibility for doing anything wrong, Tracy insisted that was because she hadn’t. She claimed that she’d only defended her home and Monica’s legacy, but Ronnie blasted back that Tracy had judged her from the moment they met. Getting emotional, Ronnie cried that the rest of the family accepting her was a final gift from Monica, and if Tracy couldn’t make a sincere apology, then she could stick a sock in it.

Surprised by Ronnie’s use of that particular phrase, Tracy revealed that Monica often said that same thing to her, and a confused Ronnie exclaimed that she and Monica always said it to each other as kids. Nodding in acceptance, a contrite Tracy delivered a genuine, heartfelt apology to Ronnie, expressing her regret that Ronnie wasn’t able to reunite with her sister, for misjudging her, and for how she’d doubted Ronnie’s love for Monica. “And I don’t know if you can, but if you can find it in your heart, please forgive me,” Tracy whispered, rendering Ronnie speechless.

Family Reunion

The morning after they were kicked out of the mansion, Ned, Olivia, Brook Lynn, Michael, and Dante descended upon Bobbie’s for breakfast, where Gio congratulated them on retaining the house. Dante and Brook Lynn shared a small smile across the table when Gio revealed that Tracy had filled him in when he’d gone to the house the night before to help them all pack. Brook Lynn quipped that they still might need help, and they all updated Gio on what led to them walking out of Tracy’s house in solidarity with Ronnie. As soon as Tracy apologized, Brook Lynn added, they’d move back in. Then, they all joked about their upcoming appointments with Lucy to look for new homes since, as Ned put it, his mother would die before she apologized. But Gio cautioned them not to sign any leases yet, because Tracy might surprise them.

Ronnie entered the diner to get a cup of coffee on her way to the airport and told them all that she’d just come from meeting with Tracy. While they all jumped to the wrong conclusion about Tracy, Gio smiled, knowing that she’d had a change of heart. “She didn’t apologize at first,” Ronnie revealed. “But then…”

After hearing that Tracy had apologized to Ronnie, Ned, Olivia, Brook Lynn, and Michael went to the mansion to see her, and made a group apology for not believing her when she claimed there’d been something wrong with Monica’s will. “Thank you, Mother, for sticking to your guns and fighting for your family,” Ned stated, asking if she’d allow them to move back in. Tracy welcomed them all back home and, despite her protests against physical affection, they enveloped her in a group hug.

Back at the diner, Ronnie said good-bye to Gio, who confided he wasn’t surprised Tracy came around and apologized. Ronnie marveled that she could have landed in jail for going along with Martin’s scheme, then got reflective. “I came to Port Charles to find a sister… that I lost a long time ago,” she shared. “And I did. But I also found a family.” She expressed her hope that Gio would let her consider him family as well and urged him to one day have that conversation with Brook Lynn and Dante. He smiled that maybe one day he would, and then insisted on giving Ronnie a ride to the airport.
