General Hospital Recap: Laura Blasts Drew, Sonny and Sidwell Clash, The Teens Team Up and More

Comments

The October 27 episode of General Hospital was full of dramatic conversations… that didn’t all end the way people wanted them to! Portia (Brook Kerr) secretly slipped off for a weekend with Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson), Curtis (Donnell Turner) confessed his true feelings to Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Emma (Braedyn Bruner) recruited some new allies, Nathan (Ryan Paevey) offered to help Lulu (Alexa Havins), Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota) continued butting heads, Laura (Genie Francis) and Ronnie (Erika Slezak) teamed up against Drew (Cameron Mathison), and that’s not all! Here’s everything that happened.

Getting Away From It All

At the end of the workday, Isaiah picked up Portia for their weekend away, and they shared a passionate kiss. But Portia had more work to do before they left and didn’t want to hold him up, urging him to go on ahead and get the cabin ready. They quickly separated and tried to look casual when Trina knocked on the door and apologized for interrupting. Isaiah thanked Portia for the consult and quickly exited, leaving Trina to ask her mother if she was hungry and wanted to join her for dinner. Portia was more concerned with how Trina was dealing with the end of her parents’ marriage. Trina admitted she understood why it was happening, but was still sad about it. She also hoped that they could be the kind of exes who could still go to the same family events, and Portia believed that was possible. When Trina got a text from Kai inviting her to dinner, Portia urged her to go, claiming she had a lot of work to do yet. Later, Portia arrived at the cabin, and Isaiah swept her into a kiss.

The Way To a Man’s Heart

Alone in her apartment, Jordan poured herself some wine and was flashing back to accusing Portia of being pregnant when Curtis knocked on her door to bring over an inspection report. They made small talk about her new place until her Noodle Buddha order arrived, and she invited him to stay for dinner. As they ate, Curtis joked that she didn’t have to set this up to spend time with him before seriously assuring Jordan that she wasn’t the reason his marriage was over. He explained that he and Portia simply realized that they were too different to continue building a life together. He had stuck it out this long for Trina’s sake, but in the end, it wasn’t fair to any of them. Curtis confessed to Jordan that he still felt a pull towards her, and when she revealed she felt the same, he worried he’d ended their own marriage too soon. As he explained his regrets, Jordan began crying. “Jordan… I’m ready to try again,” he offered. “If you are.” She turned to face him and said that she really wanted that, too, before declaring, “But I can’t.”

What’s the Matter With Kids Today

Lulu was not happy to find out about Rocco having dinner with Obrecht and Britt, and Nathan didn’t understand what the problem was. Lulu explained how she and Liesl were keeping control over Rocco’s time with the woman who gave birth to him, and feared it was Britt’s doing, but Nathan assured her that he was the one who invited his sister, and he’d been unaware of this arrangement. Lulu was upset that Rocco did this without telling her and Dante, and Nathan still didn’t see the big deal. He told her Rocco didn’t sneak out; they just ran into him, and he even offered to drive him home after, but he said his mom was picking him up. Lulu realized her son had lied to all of them. Nathan wondered if Rocco might be testing her, assuring Lulu that Rocco seemed like a good kid to him and would likely come clean about the dinner. He then tried to suggest that Britt might not be that bad, but Lulu wasn’t convinced. Nathan promised that if Rocco continued seeing Britt and Obrecht, he’d keep an eye on him. Lulu agreed to give Rocco some space and trust her son to make good choices.

Taking a Stand

At the Quartermaine mansion, Laura chided Drew for threatening teenagers and wanted Danny and Rocco to tell her what the argument was about. Ronnie blurted out that Drew wouldn’t let them see their sister. Laura was aware of the “completely unnecessary” restraining orders, and Rocco updated her that Drew lifted all of them except for Danny’s. Laura asked for a word alone with Drew, so Ronnie made sure the teens had left before returning to watch their back and forth. Laura argued that Scout deserves to spend time with her brother, but Drew called Danny a bad seed. Ronnie took offense at that and noted that Drew seemed to be the one causing all the trouble. Drew tried to explain about Danny taking after Jason, but when he mentioned the teen putting Scout in danger by taking her from camp to home on his bike, Ronnie lashed out at him for being ridiculous and accused him of looking for excuses to hurt Danny. “And you know what?” she spat. “That is cruel. And it dishonors your mother’s memory. I don’t think a man like you deserves a house like this.”

Laura called Drew heartless for keeping Danny and Scout apart, and Ronnie agreed, explaining how she and Monica were a team until they were separated and put into the foster care system. Drew insisted that Monica may have been a good big sister, but Danny was not a good big brother. Ronnie ordered Drew to get out, and he warned that she was making a big mistake, but she angrily declared she didn’t like him. As Drew exited, he told Ronnie that his offer for the mansion was still on the table, but he would not apologize for protecting his daughter. Laura applauded Ronnie and, as the mayor, officially welcomed her to Port Charles.

Later, chatting with Monica’s sister, Laura was amused to hear that she had thrown Tracy out and recalled working for Lila many years ago when she threw an important tea party which blew up when Monica and Alan arrived mid-argument. Ronnie was delighted to hear more about the real Monica, not some whitewashed version. Laura suspected that Monica had left the mansion to her sister so she could be part of the family that she had found. She was also glad she didn’t sell to Drew because she’d like to see her stay in Port Charles for a while.

All Together Now

Gio met Emma at Bobbie’s to report that he’d had a good conversation with Lois. She wondered if he and Brook Lynn might get a little closer now, but he still wasn’t sure. Gio just knew that no one would take Camila’s place as his mother. He complained that it always felt like Dante and Brook Lynn wanted to be his parents, but they’re not, and he didn’t need them anyway. Emma reminded Gio that parents will always be important, and he allowed that after talking with Lois, he was beginning to think that he might be able to have a relationship with Brook Lynn and Dante eventually. Gio also added that Lois let him have it about dropping out of school and giving up music, then recalled how his mother always told him music was turning feelings into sounds. But ever since he found out the truth about his parents, he’s lost that passion. Emma suggested that he could use music to find that passion again, talking about her own passion for animals and wanting to stop Dalton’s animal experimentation. Taking advantage of the opportunity to change the subject, Gio immediately decided that they needed to focus on stopping him.

Danny and Rocco joined Charlotte at Bobbie’s, and Danny groused about Drew lifting all the restraining orders but his. Rocco asked her about Valentin, and she said she had a good visit, but that her father warned her to tell Rocco that he shouldn’t trust Britt. Rocco promised he would be careful but wouldn’t stop seeing Britt. Emma and Gio approached the kids and asked if they’d be interested in helping her prove that Dalton was doing illegal animal testing, and they quickly agreed. Gio reminded them they weren’t to do anything illegal, and Emma insisted they were only to distract the security guard. The kids promised they were all in whenever Emma gave the word.

Polite Dinner Conversation

At the Metro Court, Sonny congratulated Marco on getting Nina off the hook for lying to the cops and commended him on working for the best law firm in town before urging him not to let his father blow it for him. After Sonny walked off, Sidwell arrived, and Marco angrily wondered if Sonny would ever pay for his mother’s death. “Oh yes,” Sidwell promised, throwing Sonny a wave and a smile from across the room. “And very soon. And not only that, but he’ll be gone for good.” Later, Martin joined Marco and Sidwell at their table, where Sidwell complained about the vote on Measure C still being too close to call. Jenz insisted that he needed these piers, and without the threat of the city taking them, Sonny wouldn’t sell. Martin assured Sidwell that he would speak to the congressman about the new plan he proposed, then left. Marco was impatient and wanted to take care of Sonny more directly. When he mentioned Sonny trying to warn him away from working with his father, Sidwell decided to have a chat with the mobster.

Kristina told Sonny that Alexis was defending Willow, and he quickly realized that the attorney was going to try and pin Drew’s shooting on Michael. Sitting at a table, Kristina admitted she wasn’t crazy about targeting Michael, but she understood creating reasonable doubt, and she wasn’t worried because Michael was innocent. But Sonny confided he could totally understand if Michael actually did take a shot at Drew.

Sidwell approached their table and asked if there was any way they could clear up this misunderstanding between them. Sonny said there was no misunderstanding; he knew exactly what Sidwell was after. Sonny took Sidwell out into the lobby, where he urged him to come after him, not his kids. Upon their return, Kristina defended Marco, insisting he was nothing like his father, but Sonny didn’t buy it and felt that Marco rescuing her from the fire at Charlie’s Pub was too convenient. Kristina insisted that her father was wrong and believed Marco just wanted peace. Sonny didn’t think so, and vowed that whatever Sidwell was planning, he was ready for it. At their own table, Sidwell complained that he needed the piers to import the raw materials for Faison’s final project, and Dalton was dragging his heels and would likely need to be replaced. Marco suggested Britt, and Sidwell said, “She’d be ideal. But unfortunately, she needs some motivation to return to work, and my partner seems reluctant to incentivize her. Maybe I need to convince him.”

Drew joined Martin at the Metro Court bar, where he immediately started complaining about Ronnie and blowing his chance to buy the mansion. Martin didn’t understand why he wanted the property, and Drew declared that he wanted to finally be the one on the inside with all the other Quartermaines shut out. Martin suggested Drew not give up because he might have a way of getting through to Ronnie Bard.
