General Hospital Recap: Ethan Burns Proof of His Delilah Connection, Cassius’ Injuries Alarm Britt
On General Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, several characters received alarming news, and others made compelling arguments. Laura (Genie Francis) urged Ric (Rick Hearst) to reconsider his pursuit of Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Justine (Nazneen Contractor) helped Sonny (Maurice Benard) work through a dilemma, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) made a huge request of Liz, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) was shocked to discover that Cassius (Ryan Paevey) was Isaiah’s (Sawandi Wilson) secret patient, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) learned who Curtis (Donnell Turner) suspected caused the crash, and after Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) told Ethan (Nathan Dean) about Phoebe’s birth mom, he privately promised to keep Delilah’s secret! Here’s how it all went down.
Hit Pause
Laura called Ric to her office to chat about Elizabeth. Laura feared that Ric’s involvement with her and Sonny to neutralize Sidwell would put Liz in danger. As Laura saw it, Sidwell already knew Elizabeth was her former daughter-in-law and mother of one of her grandsons, and once he found out she was romantically involved with Sonny’s brother, Sidwell would leverage her safety against them. The mayor noted that Liz had raved to her about Ric’s new attitude. Considering the deceit and trust issues that had plagued their past relationships, she wondered if it bothered him that he was now lying to Liz out of necessity.

Professing his love for Elizabeth, Ric confided that he’d never felt he was good enough for her and had always gotten tripped up by his jealousy of Sonny in the past. Even though he was lying by omission to Elizabeth now, he felt was doing the right thing by trying to help Laura and Sonny bring down a criminal. Ric worried that if he let her go now, Liz would never give him another chance. Still, Laura suggested he back away from the relationship until Sidwell was less of a threat.
Trail Of Evidence
Curtis explained to Jordan why he suspected Isaiah was the other driver, adding that he didn’t want to be right, as Portia might think that he was persecuting her new boyfriend. However, he frowned, he couldn’t let someone that irresponsible be around his child. When Jordan argued that the other driver might not have known they’d crashed, Curtis countered that Isaiah could have come forward since the accident. Jordan couldn’t believe that Curtis had bypassed the PCPD and gone straight to Justine with his theory, but he agreed to let it go if Jordan wanted to ask Justine to drop it. In the end, Jordan decided that if there was undeniable proof that Isaiah did it, she’d confront him.

Broken Trust
At their secret meeting place, Sonny told Justine that he’d given Ric one last shot, and his brother blew it by lying about the meeting at the D.A.’s office. Justine admitted she’d been surprised when Sonny hired Ric to defend Rocco, considering their history, so Sonny explained how he and his brother had patched up their long-fractured relationship. Sonny grumbled that he’d trusted his brother and now believed he’d been set up. Justine advised him to find out why Ric lied, because it didn’t necessarily translate to a betrayal. Sonny wondered if he was overreacting, and Justine observed that in their lines of work, they often saw the worst in people. She understood Sonny’s doubts because she had a hard time trusting, too.

Just Between Us
At G.H., Britt was jittery during an exchange with Elizabeth over a NICU staffing question. When the nurse asked if she was okay, Britt snapped at Liz to save her phony compassion. Then, Dante arrived to speak with Liz, but Britt huffed that he was interrupting hospital business she was conducting with Nurse Baldwin. Once Liz relayed the NICU info, a salty Britt lingered by trying to bring up additional scheduling, but stalked off when Dante suggested he could question her about the shooting if she had time to spare.
Once alone with Liz, Dante explained that he suspected a cover-up in Cullum’s shooting and was doing his own investigation with the evidence he’d stashed away from the WSB. The PCPD lab had examined the gun before the WSB took over the case and had found two blood types on the gun — one being Jason’s. Dante asked Liz to covertly get him a sample of Cullum’s blood so he could compare it to the other blood on the gun. She agreed, upset that the WSB had taken away Jake’s father. Since the hospital had done a blood draw on Cullum that day, Elizabeth easily got a copy for Dante, and when he thanked her, she winked that she didn’t know what he was talking about.

Hurt Locker
Elsewhere at the hospital, “Nathan,” who had sustained an injury to his ribs in his scuffle with Josslyn, asked Isaiah to treat him— no questions asked, the way he’d done with Rocco. Isaiah hesitated at first, pointing out that his Lulu wasn’t too happy with “Nathan” at the moment, but eventually agreed to treat him. Isaiah reported that “Nathan” needed an MRI to determine if his ribs were fractured, and “Nathan” insisted that his name not be used on the scans. Isaiah got called away to prep for a surgery and asked Britt to take over with his patient. She reluctantly agreed. Taking Isaiah’s tablet, Britt rolled her eyes when she read that the patient was a John Doe. Once she entered the exam room, Britt was floored to see a shirtless Cassius and the extent of his injuries.

My Two Dads?
Brook Lynn and Chase explained to Ethan what had happened to Delilah, how they’d searched for Phoebe’s family, and how they now wanted to adopt the baby. As they discussed how they’d found an unconscious Delilah, Ethan casually asked if she’d been attacked. Chase mused that Delilah might have lied about passing out because she was lightheaded, noting that since she had no identification in her purse, he couldn’t shake the feeling that she’d been hiding something.
Ethan pressed him further, and Chase revealed that the PCPD had found Delilah’s luggage, full of high-end clothes and a list of art galleries, but nothing to ID her, and her prints hadn’t come up in any database. The longer they searched with no results, the more convinced Chase was that Delilah was covering her tracks. Staring at the baby, Ethan replied that it was a good thing Delilah had run into them. Then, when Brook Lynn marveled that she and Chase had been considering adoption before Phoebe was dropped into their lives, Ethan commented that it was clear Brook Lynn and Chase loved Phoebe very much.

After Ethan left, Brook Lynn lamented that she hadn’t even asked him about what brought him back to town. She also couldn’t believe that they’d first told Ethan Lovett, of all people, that they wanted to adopt Phoebe. Brook Lynn then shared that she was terrified the state was going to take Phoebe away from them, but Chase promised his wife that anyone who tried would be in for a huge fight. Cuddling Phoebe, Chase told the baby that he and Brook Lynn were not going anywhere.
Meanwhile, an emotional Ethan returned to the pier. Pulling a photo of Delilah out of his pocket, he offered her a teary apology for not having been there for her, crying that she was supposed to have been safe in Port Charles. Ethan told Delilah that he’d seen the baby, and she was beautiful. Taking out his lighter, Ethan burned the photograph, promising her that he’d keep it to himself and no one would ever have to know.

Could Ethan be Phoebe’s father? Is Dante about to discover that Rocco was involved with Cullum’s shooting? Will Ric distance himself from Elizabeth to protect her? Let us know in the comments below what you thought about the latest episode of GH and what you think will happen next!
