General Hospital Recap: Dante Destroys Evidence as Cullum Suspects Danny Shot Him

Comments

The Friday, May 15, episode of General Hospital had some hard-hitting moments. Cassius (Ryan Paevey) opened up to Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) believed he figured out who’d really shot him, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) destroyed the PCPD’s evidence, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) urged Carly (Laura Wright) to craft a lie, Ric (Rick Hearst) earned boyfriend points with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) helped Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) make their next move to adopt Phoebe (Luna and Lucia Creighton), Jordan (Tanisha Harper) shared her worries with Justine (Nazneen Contractor), and an argument between Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) turned physical!

Wild Card

In Josslyn’s cell at Wyndemere, Cassius played cards with his captive and admitted to her that he’d fallen in love with Nathan’s life as he got to know James, Liesl, Nina, Dante, and Lulu, and sometimes forgot that he was playing a part. Opening up about his past, Cassius revealed that he’d never felt the adoration that people have for Nathan and was grateful that he’d gotten to know his brother through the facade.

When Josslyn wondered what his plan was once the cold fusion prototype was complete, Cassius shrugged that he and Britt would have to disappear. Joss noted that this would cause the people he’d come to love to lose Nathan all over again. She offered to bring Cassius to Brennan so they could expose Sidwell and Cullum and cut Cassius a deal. Josslyn was shocked when Cassius revealed that Jack was in a coma. She suggested that they go to Dante for help instead. If they worked together to bring down Cullum and Sidwell, Joss argued, then maybe the people Cassius had fallen in love with would see him — and not Nathan — in the end.

Photo Finish

Returning home from the hospital, Carly filled Valentin in on her altercation with Nina before talk turned to her missing daughter. With Jack out of commission, they’d need to figure out another way to track Josslyn down.

Cullum showed up unannounced at Carly’s door, so Valentin hid behind the wall to eavesdrop as the WSB director told Carly that he knew Jason did not shoot him. Because Jason was still refusing to answer questions, Cullum asked Carly who her best friend would be willing to go to prison for. Carly didn’t give him an answer, but Cullum noticed a framed photo of Jason and Danny on the mantle and believed he’d figured it out.

After Cullum left, Valentin mused that the agent was cleaning up loose ends and told Carly he felt that Josslyn was safer wherever Jack had stashed her. Carly wasn’t keen on the idea of not trying to find her daughter, but Valentin insisted that the best way to keep Joss off of Cullum’s radar was to come up with a plausible cover story to explain away her absence.

Seek And Destroy

In his office, Dante told Elizabeth that he was scared for his son, who had lost his innocence because of the trauma of shooting Cullum. He sought her advice on how to help Rocco, who was becoming more withdrawn. Elizabeth said she could relate to Rocco feeling isolated, having experienced her own life-altering trauma — her rape by Tom Baker — when she was Rocco’s age. It was her friends and family who eventually pulled her through, Liz noted, and she encouraged Dante to continue to show up to support his son.

An officer came in with the evidence from the pier shooting, which Dante planned to destroy. Before leaving to meet up with Ric for their date, Liz assured Dante he was doing the right thing to protect Rocco, just as she’d left no record of his hospital visit. Later, Cullum barged into Dante’s office, demanding the evidence the PCPD collected from his shooting. Dante claimed that the evidence had been misfiled in the warehouse, but Cullum suspected that Dante was lying.

Good Deeds

At Café Cherie, Ric asked Alexis to help him plan a book release party for Molly and was touched to hear that Alexis had gone to bat for him with Sonny. Later, Elizabeth arrived for their date. Ric gifted her the rare artwork he’d purchased for her through Ava, earning him gratitude and a kiss from Liz.

Alexis went to the Quartermaine house to meet with Chase and Brook Lynn. Since there was a limited window of time to submit the adoption petition before Phoebe became a ward of the state, the couple wanted to use Alexis’s private investigator to dig into Delilah’s past and try to find any blood relatives who might want to claim the baby. Alexis agreed to investigate Delilah’s connection to the art world, Alexis said she thought she knew someone who could help.

Fight Club

Curtis remained fixated on proving that Isaiah was guilty and announced to Jordan that he’d get justice — whether through the legal system or not. Justine stopped by to visit Jordan, and the friends chatted about the lack of evidence to prosecute Isaiah. Jordan sighed that Curtis refused to drop the issue, admitting that she was afraid of how far he might go.

Meanwhile, Portia and Isaiah were enjoying a night out at the Metro Court Gardens before the baby arrived. Isaiah apologized for not having time for a babymoon since he had an important surgery coming up for his young patient, Derek. When Curtis arrived at the restaurant for a work dinner, he went ballistic at the sight of Isaiah caressing Portia’s baby bump and accused Isaiah of hiding something by refusing to share his alibi with Turner.

Baiting Curtis, Isaiah shrugged that he couldn’t provide a paint sample from his car because it had recently been in for repairs after he’d gotten into an accident. With Curtis now fully convinced that Isaiah was the other driver, the men got into a shouting match that ended with Curtis punching Isaiah — and the doctor crashing backwards into a table!

Will Isaiah wind up injured because of his fall? Did Josslyn convince Cassius that there’s another path for him? Who is Alexis going to ask to help Brook Lynn and Chase? Share your thoughts about the latest episode of GH in the comments below!
