General Hospital: Behind the Scenes of Danny and Rocco’s Big Fight
The brutal fight between Danny and Rocco on General Hospital was fraught with emotion and angst, but Asher Antonyzyn (Danny) and Finn Carr had fun shooting the dramatic scenes. Antonyzyn shared a behind-the-scenes look at how the young actors made their on-screen scuffle look so real.
How They Made Danny and Rocco’s Fight Look Real
“A little behind the scenes from the Danny and Rocco fight today 👊,” Antonyzyn shared in an Instagram post featuring photos and videos from the day. “Huge shoutout to the @ghmakeupcrew and our awesome stunt coordinator for making us look like we actually beat each other up 😂 And of course, my bro @finn_car08 for making this scene so much fun to film.”
The first photo in the gallery is of Antonyzyn and Carr posing after taping the scenes while holding their rolled-up scripts in their hands. Carr is smiling and giving a thumbs-up gesture while Antonyzyn is showing off his bruised and bloodied knuckles.
The second slide is a short video showing the two young actors rehearsing Danny’s punch with the stunt coordinator. He stands behind Carr, holding his hand up to the right of Carr’s face, and as Antonyzyn throws the punch, he hits the coordinator’s palm as his co-star reacts as though the punch actually landed. Afterward, the two teens clasp their hands together in celebration and pump each other up for the actual taping of the scene to come.
Next is the actual footage from the episode showing the result of the hard work the actors put in to make the fight scene look as real as possible. And the final slide (seen below) is a selfie Antonyzyn snapped backstage showing off the bruised knuckles and fat, bloody lip created by the GH makeup team.
Not only did fans of the soap praise Antonyzyn and Carr’s performance during the fight, but some of their co-stars chimed in to comment on the young actor’s post as well. Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan/Cassius) cheered “Hell yeah man 🤘🤘,” while Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) posted three clapping hands emojis and Kayden Brenna Tokarski (Scout) awarded them three fire emojis.
