Exclusive: DAYS Recasts Arianna Horton; Find Out When She’ll Hit Salem!
Gabi Hernandez and Will Horton’s little girl is growing up – big time. A new, and noticeably older, Arianna Horton is set to debut on Days of Our Lives this May for a multi-month story arc, a spokesperson for Days of Our Lives confirms to Digest exclusively. When Arianna returns to Salem after an absence of several years, daytime newcomer Marissa Reyes will be portraying the now-teenage character.
Reyes, who hails from Houston, TX, trained as an actress as part of the Juilliard Complete Singer/Actor Program and UCLA’s TV/Film Summer Institute. She started off doing theater, appearing in productions of Into The Woods and Matilda, among other stage credits. She made her professional debut as Cami Rivera in the Netflix series Raven’s Home (2022-23). That same year, she appeared as Kate in the horror flick Spirit Halloween, which co-starred Rachael Leigh Cook (She’s All That) and Marla Gibbs (ex-Olivia Price, DAYS). She currently recurs on the Netflix series Running Point, starring Kate Hudson. Reyes also has a role in the upcoming fright flick The Evilry, which stars Faye Dunaway, Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) and Teri Polo (ex-Kristin, Loving).
Arianna Grace Horton, who was born on screen in 2013, was originally played by twins Harper and Sydnee Udell (2013-2019). Sydney Brower briefly took a turn as the character from 2019 to 2020, while in 2022, Lane Rosa was the last actress to appear in the role.
Conceived when Gabi and Will had a one-night stand in 2012, Arianna was delivered by her future stepfather, Sonny Kiriakis. She was named after her deceased maternal aunt, Arianna Hernandez, and Grace DiMera, the newborn girl who Sami unwittingly raised as her own thanks to a baby switch and who later passed away. When Gabi went to prison in 2014 for her role in Nick Fallon’s death, Will and Sonny assumed custody of the little girl. Eventually the couple moved to Arizona, and Arianna joined then. She subsequently returned to Salem for multiple visits, but in 2023, she relocated to New Zealand to reside with Will and Sonny.
Reyes has clearly made a good impression on her new co-stars; Dan Feuerriegel (EJ) posted a photo to his Instastories in which he and Reyes posed alongside two members of the actress’s on-screen family, Al Calderon (Javi) and Cherie Jimenez (Gabi). Jimenez commented on it, writing, “All my favorite people in one photo.”
