Sami found Carrie crying alone in Lexie’s office. Sami played dumb and assumed Carrie wanted to be with Austin and said Carrie didn’t have to honor the previous promise she made to her. Carrie flashbacked on Lexie telling her if she and Austin had a baby, there is a high chance their baby could have a severe birth defect. Carrie cried that she could never be with Austin and ran out. Lexie returned and beat herself up for lying to Carrie. Sami reminded Lexie that she has done worse in her life and this will help her keep her husband and son. Carrie saw a happy couple with their baby and cried some more. Sami came upon Carrie and they saw a baby being rushed in who had a genetic problem and the parents grieving for their lost child. Carrie rushed off, while Sami broke into the records room. Lexie caught her in there and flipped over what Sami was doing. Lexie later found Carrie crying over the other couple’s situation and Carrie realized she couldn’t bring a baby into the world with Austin. Lexie told Carrie to give herself time and not to make any hasty decisions. Then Lexie went over to Sami and whispered Sami was going to Hell for this. Carrie left a message for Austin, saying she wanted to talk to him about their future, which worried Sami.

John found Marlena unconscious in her hospital room. Lexie rushed in to helped her and Abe held John back from attacking Alex outside her room. Lexie said Marlena was going to be fine but needed rest, so everyone had to leave her alone. Abe wondered why Lexie was acting so strange. John told Alex that Marlena is going to remember their love and Alex will then be gone. Alex remembered his previous conversation with Marlena where she revealed that she does remember everything. John, Abe and Alex went into Marlena’s room and John asked her if she remembered their life together. Marlena said she had no memory of John whatsoever, just her husband Alex. Alex flashbacked on injecting Marlena with a memory-erasing drug. John wondered why she asked to see him and Marlena didn’t know. Alex then revealed that he and Marlena will still be renewing their vows the next day. John vowed to Abe that Alex’s wedding day was also going to be his funeral.

Jennifer and Frankie arrived at Shawn and Mimi’s wedding and Jennifer remembered her first wedding to Jack. Meanwhile, Bonnie chugged some holy water and Kate told her to calm down. Father Jansen resumed the ceremony at the “does anyone have objections” part and everyone held their breath to see what Belle would do. Belle clutched little Claire as the ceremony continued. Mimi and Shawn lit their unity candle and joined hands. Frankie reached for Jennifer’s hand and she recalled Jack’s wedding vows to her and hers to him. Then she envisioned marrying Frankie and wondered if she was doing the right thing. She then dreamed of Jack being in the pew and told him she needed a sign to know if he wants her with Frankie. Shawn and Mimi then said their “I do”s, exchanged rings and were pronounced husband and wife while a tearful Belle looked on. At the reception at Chez Rouge, Belle wanted to take Claire home but Philip told her to stay and encouraged her to have fun. Philip went to get Claire a bottle, and Caroline approached Belle and told her she knew how hard the wedding was on Belle. Belle said she didn’t stop the wedding because of Claire and she maintained she could make her own marriage work. Victor and Kate discussed Claire’s true paternity for the umpteenth time and Kate insisted that they keep the secret. Shawn and Mimi danced and kissed, then Mimi talked to Bonnie about how guilty she felt. Shawn thanked Belle for bringing Claire to the reception. Shawn and Mimi danced and kissed some more, then Philip offered up the “best family” toast. Belle started crying again and rushed out.
