Paying Tribute

In the promo video for the week of December 2 on Days of our Lives, spoilers show that all those who loved Doug Williams are paying tribute to him and none more so than his widow. “It’s time… time to say goodbye,” she says as she leans against the beautiful portrait that greets the mourners as they file in. There’s also plenty of flashbacks of Doug through the years.

The action then cuts to Lani, Eli, Abe and Paulina toasting Eli’s late grandfather. They aren’t the only ones — Roman toasts the man along with his sister, Kayla and her husband, Steve as we hear the voice-over say, “Days of our Lives marks a milestone — 15,000 episodes.”

Welcome Back

“I wonder who’s going to come back for his memorial,” we hear Kayla say as Belle, then Ciara as Shawn, Jennifer and Lucas look on. “Hey Sis, long time no see,” says Julie’s brother Steve over a flashback of him and then back to present day at her window.

“You’re not that delighted to see me, Marie” teases Liz Chandler to a not very happy Marie Horton in the middle of Horton Town Square, named for her parents. The next thing shown is everyone gathered for the service to pay tribute to Doug. The voice-over then says, “With a celebration of life that lasts all week long.”

“I lost the love of my life today, but I feel love all around me from all of you,” says Julie, as the camera pans to so many people who love Julie and loved Doug with all of their heart. At his grave, we then see Hope, dressed in black, bend down and lay flowers on his grave. “I love you so, so much,” she manages through the tears as she runs her fingers along his name on the tombstone.
