Are Young and Restless’s Cane and Phyllis Hot or Not? Cast Your Vote!
When Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) returned to Young and Restless, the guy made a great show of how much he wanted ex-wife Lily (Christel Khalil) and their family back. However, as time has gone on, he’s gotten mixed up with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and now the pair has even slept together! It’s becoming clear that Cane may not know where his heart truly lies, but what do fans think — should he experiment with the volatile chemistry he shares with Phyllis or continue trying to repair his broken bond with Lily?
Broken Hearts Club
In June 2025, the mysterious billionaire Aristotle Dumas was revealed to be an alias of Cane’s, one that he had used while amassing his fortune. He’d invited some of Genoa City’s heavy hitters to his estate in France to reveal himself, but unfortunately for him, his plan went sideways when his guests did not react well to his deception. Cane’s ex-wife, Lily, was particularly upset with him, which hit Cane hard, because he claimed that everything he had done was to try to prove he was a changed man in the hopes of winning back his family.
Upon his return to Genoa City, Cane struggled to balance his shady business moves with his attempts to charm Lily. And for every moment where it seemed like he might be making progress with his ex, there was one where she blasted him for his lies and schemes and turned her back on him again.
Then, to complicate matters even further, Cane got into bed with Phyllis. First, figuratively, as he enlisted her to work for him, and then literally, as the sparks flying between them ignited and led to them having a bout of passionate sex. Fans know that Phyllis was just using Cane in order to get her hands on the AI program so she could use it to her advantage, and Cane was also manipulating Phyllis in order to ascertain exactly what she’s been up to behind his back. But could this physical connection they’ve made also have unlocked some deeper feelings between them they’ll now have to wrestle with?
Lily was at the GCAC, thinking about Cane’s vow to give everything up for her and was contemplating reaching out to Cane when she saw her ex descending the stairs holding hands with Phyllis following their tryst. From the look on Lily’s face, that eyeful might be enough to put the brakes on any hope of any potential reconciliation between Lily and Cane, but as the saying goes, there’s a thin line between love and hate. Might Cane still be able to convince Lily that she should take another chance on their future? On the other hand, if things with Lily have truly hit a dead end, could Cane possibly still find some measure of happiness with Phyllis? Although their current relationship has been built on lies and deception, the sparks between them have been genuine.
