Apprentice 3 Update #9
After last week’s clip show, it was back to business for the reshuffled corporations in the March 24 installment of THE APPRENTICE. The challenge was to conduct a how-to clinic at Home Depot, but it proved to be a clinic in how to get yourself kicked off the show.
The in-store demo was intended to show Home Depot customers how to do a home-improvement project, and was basically judged on creativity and getting the shoppers involved.
Under the leadership of mush-mouthed Craig, Magna decided to build a storage box. Exuberant project manager Angie declared Home Depot “the happiest place on Earth” (cue Disney lawsuit?), and led Net Worth to construct a mobile kitchen island. (Jeez, these Mark Burnett shows sure like islands!) Erin was able to talk the squad out of a crown-moulding project by admitting,”As a former beauty queen, I know what a crown is, but I don’t know what crown moulding is.”
Less-than-enthused Magna left Craig to work out his “uncreative” box project alone. (While there is no “I” in team, there apparently is a “CRAIG.”)
At demo time, Net Worth made two gigantic blunders: 1) They didn’t allow the customers to participate in the show, and 2) They did let Chris — who promptly installed a shelf upside down.
Craig’s much-maligned plain box, however, proved a big hit, because they involved children in decorating the dull box, making it “creative”!
Loser Angie took Erin and tobacco-chompin’ Chris into the boardroom.
Remember how cutie Erin didn’t know from hammers? Angie hammered her for non-participation in the (non-participation) demonstration. Erin countered that “Chris needs adult supervision 24/7.” Donald Trump scolded Erin for being a “wiseguy” but was also spittin’ mad over Chris’ chaw, prompting the chewer to quit dippin’ on the spot. As Trump shifted focus to Angie’s disastrous leadership mistakes, Erin’s smart mouth compelled her to make a dumb move: She mouthed off to Trump. Fed up by the wiseguy, Trump whacked Erin.
In the taxi, Erin summed up: “My inability to use a power saw cut me off at the knees.”
Five people remain in Magna, and three in Net Worth. Check this space next Friday, April 1, for the latest scoop on NBC’s hit reality show.

SOAP OPERA WEEKLY’s Predictions for the Final Four (two are still in):
Alex: His theology and Latin degrees alone reveal his impressive mind, and his solid speaking — and lobbying — skills will please Trump.
Brian: He’s got the creativity and business acumen, having made a million from selling glow-in-the-dark necklaces.
Kendra: This entrepreneur and talk radio show host may prove to be one of the most resourceful and dedicated players.
Tara: Watch this one — her NYC know-how and heavy management experience should keep her on the successful side.
The dark horses: lively Angie and tough Bren!
