Beyond the Gates Spoilers Video Promo: ‘I’m on a Side Quest Right Now’

A Big Oops

The action in the Beyond the Gates spoilers preview video for the week of November 10 opens at Bill’s (Timon Kyle Durrett) law office, where the man himself is shaking hands with Izaiah (David Lami Friebe), Elon’s (Malachi Malik) other son, who has just arrived in town, while Hayley (Marquita Goings) observes the exchange. “Been a long time, Izaiah,” Bill smiles, obviously happy to see the young man. “Is Hayley your niece?” Izaiah asks. Bill quickly sets the record straight. “Hayley’s my wife,” he tells Izaiah as Hayley tries to appear demure.

Roving Eyes

“I’m on a side quest right now,” Hayley explains to someone on the other end of her cell phone conversation. “Getting to know a certain police chief’s fit and fine younger son,” she says, giving a hungry look that leaves no doubt about her intentions. But who is on the other end of the phone?

Secret Meeting

Vernon (Clifton Davis) arrives at Uptown and joins Sharon (Bonnie Brisker) in a private booth — without his wife, who is also her singing partner in The Articulettes, Anita (Tamara Tunie). “We can’t let our meetings get back to Anita,” he tells her. This marks their second meeting — at least, the second one known to viewers. What exactly are these two up to, and why are they keeping it from Anita?

Slip of the Tongue?

In the private poker room at Joey’s (Jon Lindstrom) casino, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) voices a realization she’s come to, addressing Joey directly. “You’re addicted,” she says with a smirk on her face. He raises a drink to his lips, but before it gets there, he says, “If I didn’t love you…” Vanessa is tongue-tied and finally manages to ask, “What did he say?” motioning for another person in the room to clarify.

Marital Bliss?

Elsewhere, Andre (Sean Freeman) and Dani (Karla Mosley) appear closer than ever. “And the honeymoon begins in three…two…one,” she purrs before pulling him closer and putting her arms around him.
