Beyond The Gates

Bonita Brisker (Sharon): The third member of The Articulates arrived on the scene last Friday and will continue to air this week. The actress who plays her, Brisker, had a recurring role on Judge Me Not and also appeared on shows like FBI: Most Wanted and Black Lightning, as well as in films like Rhythm & Blood and Greyson Family Christmas.

Jason Graham (Douglas McBride): Despite gambling addict Doug seemingly spending most of his time at the casino, he indeed proves he’s also a doctor this week when he has unexpected news for Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett).

Karan Kendrick (Mona Wilson): Along with Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Kat (Colby Muhammad), Mona goes above and beyond to welcome back Laura (Destiny Love) when she returns to work.

Destiny Love (Laura Peterson): Laura, who needs to continue watching her back because of Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), turns to an unlikely source for help.

Kristian Alfonso (Hope Williams Brady): Hope, who has loved Bo (Peter Reckell) since she was a teenager, appears to be poised for a miracle this week as her beloved finally opened his eyes.

Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux): JJ’s (Casey Moss) father returns this week, alongside his wife and JJ’s mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves).

Brandon Butler (Zack Brady): As Bo fought to wake up, he encountered his late son on Monday. The actor has appeared on shows like 13 Reasons Why, Trinkets and SEAL Team. He also played the role of Frat Guy #1 on GH in 2016.

Adam Chambers (Dave): The character will encounter Chad (Billy Flynn) and Cat (AnnaLynne McCord) this week. Chambers has appeared in TV shows like B Positive and NCIS: Los Angeles and the film To The Beat!: Back 2 School alongside fellow DAYS actors Eric Martsolf (Brady), Martha Madison (Belle), Marie Wilson (ex-Summer) and Jillian Clare (ex-Abigail), who also wrote and directed the film.

Christie Clark (Carrie Brady Reed): Roman’s (Josh Taylor) firstborn child remains in town this week to mourn the loss of her second father, John (Drake Hogestyn).

Leann Hunley (Anna DiMera): Roman’s ex-wife and Carrie’s mother returns to Salem this week. She was last seen in Salem in 2023.

Colton Little (Andrew Donovan): As Paul (Christopher Sean) is reeling over the tragic demise of his father, John, his fiancé will be a comforting presence be by his side.

Victoria Konefal (Ciara Brady Weston): Bo’s daughter with Hope (Kristian Alfonso) remains on the scene as her father awakens from his coma.

Chandler Massey (Will Horton): Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) son continues to represent her and their side of the family as they deal with the emotional fallout from John’s accident.

Andy Martinez (Lurker): The photographer will be seen outside of the Brady Pub. If the actor looks familiar, you may have seen him in various roles on Y&R and GH, and in other TV series such as High Potential, S.W.A.T. and L.A.’s Finest or in the films like Killer in Suburbia and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Shi Ne Nielson  (Amy Choi): Look for Sophia’s (Rachel Boyd) mom to appear in scenes with her daughter and Tate (Leo Howard).

Peter Reckell (Bo Brady): The miracle his family has longed for finally happens this week as Bo opened his eyes. Reckell’s emotional scenes continue to play out this week.

Melissa Reeves (Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux): Jack’s wife and JJ’s mom returns to town this week. Look for her to clash with Chad and Cat.

Christopher Sean (Paul Narita): John’s son will be sticking around Salem this week as he supports Marlena (Deidre Hall) and the rest of the family during this trying time in their lives.

Vincent Simard (Bo Weston): Ciara’s son with Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) will be on hand to finally meet the man he’s named after.

Tess Auberjonois (Judge Eva Heran): Auberjonois, whose previous TV credits include episodes of Monsters, How I Met Your Father and Lucifer, plays the judge presiding over the contentious divorce and custody proceedings for Michael (Rory Gibson) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).

Finn Carr (Rocco Falconeri): Look for him to confront his mom, Lulu (Alexa Havins), about his dad, Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna), other son, Gio (Giovanni Mazza).

Daniel Cosgrove (Ezra Boyle): The congressman — and growing thorn in Mayor Laura’s (Genie Francis) side — airs again this week.

Robert Gossett (Marshall Ashford): Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) musician pop, who left town last fall to go on tour, makes a return trip to Port Charles this week and reunites with his beloved family, including daughter-in-law Portia (Brook Kerr) and granddaughter Trina (Tabyana Ali). Gossett, who made his GH debut in 2021, is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner in the Supporting Actor category for his portrayal of Marshall.

Ellen Travolta (Gloria Cerullo): Lois’s (Rena Sofer) mom is back on the scene to help her face the music over the Gio secret.

Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott): As the festivities for Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) party continue this week, expect to see her former rival in attendance.

Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter): Mariah’s (Camryn Grimes) wife will be seen again this week in scenes with Daniel (Michael Graziadei).

Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman Abbott Winters): Victor (Eric Braeden) and Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) daughter — and Devon’s (Bryton James) wife — will be seen this week in scenes surrounding Nikki’s birthday celebration.

J. Eddie Peck (Cole Howard): Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) love and Claire’s (Hayley Erin) dad will be around, and his cough is getting worse. Will he get answers about his medical condition this week?

Valarie Pettiford (Amy Lewis): Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) mother pops up this week in scenes with his half brother Nate (Sean Dominic) and his lady love, Audra (Zuleyka Silver).

Jai Rodriguez (Pietro): Claire’s party planner will continue to be seen this week at Nikki’s party. The actor of course is better known as one of the former hosts of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

 

Real-Life Status

Bringing Up Baby: Katrina Bowden (ex-Flo, B&B) made an announcement on behalf of her and her husband, musician Adam Taylor, on her official Instagram account: “We’ve been hiding a little something 🙃🤍 baby due this October.” In a comment on her own post, she added, “The most difficult thing to hide mentally and physically 😂” Former B&B co-star Courtney Hope (Sally, Y&R) commented, “Congrats! ❤️” Ashley Jones (Bridget, B&B) also left word saying, “Oh Katrina. 🥹🥹🥹♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️best news.”

Wedding Bells Ring: Kate Mansi (Kristina, GH) got married over the weekend to producer Matt McInnis. The two became engaged on July 3, 2024. The couple moved their nuptials up a month and surprised their guests, which included Mansi’s Port Charles sister, Kristen Vaganos (Molly)… Also playing the newlywed game is returning B&B star Jack Wagner (Nick; ex-Frisco, GH). Wagner, who was married to GH leading lady Kristina Wagner (Felicia) from 1993-2006, tied the knot with longtime love Michelle Wolf. The bride broke the happy news on Instagram. Congratulations to both couples!

 

Casting About

Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady, DAYS) has a new Hallmark movie premiering on Saturday, June 7, called To Barcelona, With Love, co-starring Ashley Williams (ex-Danielle Andropoulos, As the World Turns). On June 14, To Barcelona, Forever follows. Lastly, on June 22, A Pie to Die For will debut with Victor Webster (ex-Nicholas Alamain, DAYS) and Barbara Niven (ex-Liz Coleman Reynolds, One Life to Live).

 

Industry News

On A Jet Plane: B&B stars Heather Tom (Katie Logan) and Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter Walton) will represent the show at the 64th Monte Carlo Television Festival in Monaco from June 14-17. They will be guests of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. Fans will have a chance to attend an autograph session on Monday, June 16, and the next evening the actors will be presenters at the Golden Nymph Awards Ceremony.

Ashton Arbab (ex-Dev Cerci, GH) co-wrote, co-directed, co-executive produced and stars in the short film, Off My Shoulders — which is available on YouTube…. Kyra Sedgwick (ex-Julia Shearer, Another World) is in the new film Bad Shabbos…. Shelley Hennig (ex-Stephanie Johnson, DAYS) and Philip Brown (ex-Steve Kendall, Search For Tomorrow; ex-Buck Houston, Loving/The City) are in the new action thriller Fluxx…. Brittany Underwood (ex-Langston Wilde, OLTL) shared the following about the new film, In Her Sleep. “OK!! Now I can share why this one is so special for me!!” she said on Instagram. “Because I got to write it with my INSANELY talented friend [Nick Roth] writer/director of @hankypankymovie 😁 we may have had…way too much fun writing this one. 🥹It’s my first time writing a feature AND they let me direct it, so I kinda can’t stop smiling right now🥰 Also…the shot we’re getting right now is insane😂 can’t believe they let us do it and cannot WAIT for you guys to see what it is 😁☺️ Our baby’s finally coming to life Nick!! We did it!! Hehehe. 😁😁😁👊🏼🙌🏼🎉” Starring in the film is GH’s Adam Huss (Nikolas Cassadine) and his wife is played by GH alum Alicia Leigh Willis (ex-Courtney Mathews).

 

In Memoriam

Valerie Mahaffey, who played Ashley Bennett on The Doctors from 1979-81 and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1980, passed away from cancer at the age of 71 on May 30. She was most known for playing Eve from 1991-1994 on CBS’s Northern Exposure, a role in which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 1992. Mahaffey’s list of credits in television and film is numerous and also includes the films Sully, Seabiscuit and Jungle 2 Jungle. Among her notable television appearances are Big SkyYoung Sheldon and Desperate Housewives. Born in Sumatra, Indonesia on June 16, 1953, she moved to Austin, Texas at the age of 16. She graduated from Austin High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Texas in 1971. She married Joseph Kell and had a daughter, Alice. Soap Opera Digest sends heartfelt condolences to them, as well as her former co-workers and fans.
