Y&R HIRES NEW HEAD WRITER
Veteran soap scribe Charles Pratt, Jr. has been named Y&R's Head Writer. The buzz was first reported by Highlight Hollywood; Daytime Confidential adds that Pratt will also receive an Executive Producer credit, though Jill Farren Phelps will remain as showrunner. Pratt has written for ALL MY CHILDREN, GENERAL HOSPITAL, SANTA BARBARA and SUNSET BEACH, as well as prime-time shows MELROSE PLACE, TITANS and MODELS INC. There is no word on what will happen with current Head Writers Shelly Altman and Jean Passanante.
