Exclusive: Why GH Killed Sabrina

Comments

Killing off Teresa Castillo as Sabrina “was a very difficult decision to make,” says GH’s Co-Head Writer Jean Passanante. “It’s always very difficult to kill off a character, but sometimes, the story demands it.” In this instance, “We thought it would be important to give what Paul is doing more emotional foundation for our audience to have him kill someone who was literally in the wrong place at the wrong time and is somebody we care about.” As for where this leaves newbie Joe, who seemed poised to give Michael some romantic competition on the Sabrina front, viewers “will soon see a resolution to the situation with Joe,” Co-Head Writer Shelly Altman says. For more on the murder, and an emotional final interview with Castillo, check out an upcoming issue of Soap Opera Digest.
