Copy This Look - Terri Ivens

ALL MY CHILDREN fashionista Terri Ivens (Simone) has had so many fun looks that we could not fit them all into Weekly’s Oct. 4 Copy This Look! feature. But don’t fret, here they are. And, as a bonus, Ivens shares a secret of how you can look like a soap diva, too.

“I am a big fan of hairpieces for special events,” she whispers. “Especially the Emmys, because you are outside and you never know what the weather’s going to be like. It’s like a 2-mile red carpet walk, and you don’t want your hair to be flat by the end. I always find it to be very helpful to use some ready-made pieces that can be intertwined with your natural hair. It’s a great secret. Any woman can look like a soap star in 30 seconds by plopping on one of these things!” (Psst! Ivens is wearing hairpieces in photos No. 2 and No. 6 of the Oct. 4 feature.)
No.1
“This is a black leather pant. Every girl needs to have them,” stresses Ivens. “The shoes are Miu Miu. They are snakeskin and awesome. I wear them a great deal. And I wish I still had that great tank top, but the sequins fell off and that was the end of that. That’s the same wrap in [the third] picture. It’s a staple.”

No.2
“I love this,” grins Ivens. “It was at the Creative Craft Awards in 2003. The top is a Heidi Abra. You could put that top with a pair of jeans and all the blue hues in the burned velvet pop. So you can dress it up or dress it down. Those are a pair of Max Studio satin slacks. And I’m wearing Vera Wang on my feet. It’s one of the only times I’ve got red polish on my toes. I never do that.”

No.3
“This is actually a dress that I was given from a TV show that I did years ago, SECRET AGENT MAN,” reveals Ivens. “It had a matching suit jacket that was cut with 3/4-sleeves. We zipped the dress up and it fit me like a glove. I’ve never walked into a dress that was that knockout before. And the director thought I did so well, he was like, ‘As a gift, you can take this suit.’ This is a piece that is hard for me to retire, because it’s so simple and it’s so flattering. And because of its length, you can wear it in the evening, depending on the shoe. Those are Gucci boots.”
