Lucas Adams, (Tripp, DAYS)
How did you learn you were nominated? “My agent and manager called and surprised me. I was in shock. My mouth couldn’t have dropped any more to the floor. I was in my car. Luckily, I wasn’t driving on the freeway, so I pulled over on a side street and started screaming. I was obviously hoping [to get nominated], but when it actually happened it was kind of surreal.”
What scenes did you submit? “Everything around Theo getting shot, being in a coma, waking up and learning he can’t walk. The scenes I submitted were the ones where he was told in order for him to walk he would have to go to South Africa [for therapy] and leave everyone and Salem. It was kind of heartbreaking stuff. The scenes were mainly with Jim [Reynolds, Abe] and Olivia [Rose Keegan]. There were also some with Victoria [Konefal], Casey [Moss, JJ] and Lamon [Archey, Eli]. They were my good-bye scenes, my final scenes on DAYS. I exited through the elevator and was never seen again. I was happy with those scenes. I felt the emotions, both as a character and as myself acting.”
Did you hear from anyone on the cast? “Olivia was the first one from the cast to send me a text. Of course, I heard from Jim, my ‘dad’. Lucas [Adams], who’s nominated with me, as well, sent me a text. We sent each other texts. I also heard from Kate Mansi, who won a couple of years ago. I’m hoping her good luck will rub off.”
Were there any messages that stood out? “Olivia and I joked about hitting the red carpet up together.”
Do you have any kind of lucky charm you’ll be bringing with you? “Probably. I have bracelets that I wear all the time on auditions that I keep in my back pocket. You never know what I might have. I have little crystals that I might bring in my pocket. I also have some Buddhist beads, meditation beads.”

William Lipton (Cameron, GH)
How does it feel to be an Emmy nominee? “I gotta say, it feels like I’m flying! It’s such a wild experience! It really came out of left field for me, but I feel so honored.”
How did you get the good news? “My dad picked me up at school and he asked me how my day was, and I was like, ‘Good, I did well on my test,’ and he says, ‘Oh, by the way, you got nominated for an Emmy.’ I looked at him and was like, ‘You’re crazy!’ And then I started dancing around in the car, as much as you can dance around in a car. I was beyond excited.”
What was the vibe like the first time you went to the studio after the nominations came out? “The vibe was amazing! I ran into Garren as I was walking in and I was like, ‘Dude, come over here!’ and I gave him a big hug and we congratulated each other. Same with Eden [McCoy, Josslyn]. It was a wonderful feeling to receive and give.”
How did you choose your reel? “My mom and I sat down and worked tirelessly on the reel. One episode was Joss and Cameron get into a fight over him not telling her that Oscar was sick, and another one is where Cameron is just feeling really defeated. We tried to capture a range of emotions in what we picked.”
Have you thought about how you’re going to feel that night as you’re walking the red carpet and being interviewed? “That part, I am so excited for. I really like dressing up and I can’t wait to walk the red carpet with my friends Eden and Garren. It’s going to be a wonderful night. I’m ready for it!”

Garren Stitt (Oscar, GH)
Congratulations! How did you find out about your nomination? “The executive producer [Frank Valentini] had called my mom and told her that I had been nominated.”
What does being nominated for an Emmy mean to you? “It really inspires me to keep pushing myself. I have been acting since I was 7, and this is definitely a milestone in my acting career.”
Who did you hear from at GH with congratulations? “Everyone! Everyone came up to me to congratulate me — directors, the cast, wardrobe, security. Anyone you can think of.”
What was on your reel? “The scenes where my character found out he has cancer. Those were some of my favorite scenes.”
Did anyone help you put it together or give you advice about what to pick? “No, I kind of already knew what I wanted to be in there. When you shoot throughout the year, you kind of want to save scenes that you really like [to include] in your submission.”
Where would you put the Emmy if you win? “I’d put a nice little glass box around it and put it in my room.”
What are you looking forward to about Emmy night? “I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun with my family, walking the red carpet and meeting a lot of cool people.”
Do you think you’ll be nervous when it’s time for your category? “Yes, definitely! But good nerves.”
Will you prepare a speech, or would you wing it? “I have written a speech, but I really just want to speak from my heart.”

Zach Tinker (Fenmore, Y&R)
How did you find out about your nomination? “I knew the nominations were coming out, so I needed to get my mind off of it. I went to the gym, but I kept checking and checking my phone because I’m neurotic. Finally, I turned off my phone and didn’t turn it back on until I got home. The first thing I saw was a bunch of tags on Twitter and then I read, ‘Congratulations to Y&R’, then saw my name. I was like, ‘Oh, my, God!!’ I lost it.”
Did you celebrate? “I had wine and watched LOVE ISLAND. My version of celebrating is to do as little as possible.”
What scenes did you submit? “The scenes with my [TV] parents where I’m telling them that I’m quitting law school to do music. I also submitted a couple of scenes with Ana [Loren Lott].”
What style are you going to wear for the night? “I’m leaning toward going classic, with a James Bond-y black tux. I really don’t have the natural swagger to pull off something cool.”
Will you prepare an acceptance speech just in case? “I’ll just go off the cuff. I’m already a very anxious person, so I’m trying not to stress myself out. Hopefully, I won’t stutter like a moron.”
