Young and Restless Photos: Nick and Sharon’s Unbreakable Bond
Sharon and Nick first met over 30 years ago when they were in high school on Young and Restless. Ever since then, their lives have been intertwined through marriages, having children, the loss of a child, countless affairs, outside forces looking to do one or both of them in and so much more. That bond has been tested but it’s never been broken, and while they may not be a couple right now, that hasn’t stopped Nick from believing in Sharon when she couldn’t even believe in herself. Sharon is once again in dire straights but it’s Nick and the love of her children that is seeing her through. Click on the gallery to take a walk down memory lane and relive some of “Shick’s” highest highs and lowest lows together. Also, let us know in the comments section below if you think these two should reunite.

He raped Sharon, then tried to spoil her engagement to Nick by revealing her big secret: She’d had a child when she was 16. When Matt was shot, Nick was blamed, but eventually, he was exonerated, clearing the way for Nick and Sharon to say, “I do” in 1996. Case told Digest in 2022 that she "felt like a princess" in that gown. -
JPI Nick and Sharon's love was tested when she became pregnant. Nick didn't want to have a child so soon and tried to get Sharon to have an abortion but she wanted their baby. In 1997, Sharon was walking on ice and fell, causing her to go into early labor. Their preemie son, Noah, almost didn't make it. -
JPI Nick and Sharon's life together was challenged when her friend from childhood, Grace, found the child she gave away at birth, Cassie (Camryn Grimes), and kept her a secret for a while. Grace eventually reunited Sharon with Cassie in early 1998. Nick had a hard time at first but grew to love the little girl as his own, which he made official by adopting her. -
JPI In 1999, Mr. and Mrs. Newman became partners in more than just marriage and child-rearing when they became the proprietors of Crimson Lights. -
JPI Grace (Jennifer Gareis) came between Sharon and Nick on multiple occasions during her first return to Genoa City — indeed, Nick and Sharon almost broke up over Nick's affair with Grace. Years later in 2003, Grace returned to town and accused Sharon of killing her boyfriend, Cameron Kirsten. In truth, Grace was helping Cameron (who had faked his death) torment Sharon, but Nick convinced Grace to help expose him for the abuser he was. -
JPI In 2004, as Cameron's (Linden Ashby) quest for revenge against Sharon continued, he kidnapped her and spirited her away on a plane. Nick stowed away to try to rescue Sharon. All three eventually parachuted out and Cameron was finally arrested. -

She eventually succumbed to her injuries and died. Nick and Sharon handled their overwhelming grief in their own way, and they grew apart. -
JPI In 2006, weakened by their grief, Nick and Sharon’s marriage faced its breaking point when his affair with Phyllis resulted in her pregnancy with daughter Summer. Nick and Sharon divorced and he wed Phyllis in 2007, but the Nick/Sharon bond continued. -
JPI In 2007, Sharon was engaged to Jack, but Nick was the one she asked for when she regained consciousness after she nearly died from going over the side of a cliff. Nick was right by her side, checking on her, and she survived the same terrible accident that claimed the life of her dear friend, Drucilla, while the women were arguing with Phyllis. -
JPI Also in 2007, Nick was in a plane crash and was believed to have died. He turned up alive, but with no memory of the previous two years of his life. Not only could he not recall his love for Phyllis or the birth of Summer, but he had to relive the grief of losing Cassie all over again. Sharon climbed into bed to hold him as they mourned their little girl's loss together. -
JPI Later in 2007, the garage in Clear Springs collapsed. Nick awoke and rescued Jack (Peter Bergman). They worked together to free Sharon from the rubble. It was Jack though who sacrificed himself so that Sharon and Nick could escape (having drawn the short straw). -
JPI In 2008, Jack and Nick decided to start a new Internet and print magazine, Restless Style, and their respective wives, Sharon and Phyllis, eventually joined them. But in a move that shocked no one, they soon clashed. A coin toss had Jack buying out Nick. Sharon asked Victor to bring his son back to Newman and Nick's first move was to rehire Sharon as the spokeswoman for Beauty of Nature. -
JPI Also in 2008, Nick went to Paris to search for Victor while Sharon was there for Noah, who was on a trip. They ran into each other and Nick showed Sharon around. They were caught up in the moment and shared a kiss, which Phyllis, there for a photo shoot, spotted. -
JPI Against Phyllis's wishes, Nick went to the Abbott lake house to find Sharon in 2009. She was there reevaluating her life after she split from Jack and turned down Brad, who wanted to be with her. Nick delivered the terrible news that Noah had almost died — and that Brad had died saving him. They ended up stranded and, caught up in past memories, the two made love by the fire. While they didn't reunite afterwards, they did make Faith that night. -
JPI At the end of 2009, another huge event tested the bond of Sharon and Nick: Her marriage to his brother Adam (then-Michael Muhney). Nick felt it was a move by Adam to get revenge on him and encouraged her to get an annulment. Instead she told him to go home to his spouse. Over the years, her bond with Adam would often push Nick to the brink, keeping their daughter Faith from her to ensure her safety from Adam. -
JPI In 2012, Nick and Sharon's bond was at an all-time low. She was in between marriages to his father, Victor (Eric Braeden), and showed up at Nick's remarriage to Phyllis even though she knew she wasn't invited. -
JPI Also in 2012, with her husband Victor missing (and later presumed dead), a very on-the-edge Sharon allowed herself to be guided by Tucker (Stephen Nichols) to take over Newman Enterprises. She was armed with Victor's proxy rights. It angered Nick and his sister Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Tucker also tried to get Sharon to fire Nick but she refused. But in time, she blamed Nick for a bad interview she gave, which led him to call her a brat and she fired him. -
JPI In 2013, Sharon (who had been diagnosed as bipolar) tampered with a paternity test so that it would look like Jack, not Nick, was Summer’s father. Phyllis uncovered the truth, but before she could expose Sharon’s terrible act, she fell down a flight of stairs — and Sharon, who was off her meds at the time, left her there to die. Phyllis sank into a coma, but came out of it in time to interrupt Sharon and Nick’s wedding in 2014. -
JPI In 2016, Sharon let her new husband, Dylan (Steve Burton), believe that Sully was their child, but Sharon knew the truth — she'd never had a baby and "Sully" was really Christian, the child Nick thought he had with Sage (who they were told had died). Sharon didn't want to break Dylan's heart so she let Nick continue to mourn his son. When he found out the truth, Nick took his child back. (Later it was revealed he was biologically Adam's.) Also pictured is Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), who was seeing Nick at the time. -
CBS In 2018, Sharon and Nick were once again set to remarry, with Mariah (Cassie's twin, who reentered her life in 2014) and Noah (Robert Adamson) standing up for them. Unfortunately for Nick, Sharon chose that moment to tell her groom she knew about his one-night stand with Phyllis. She dumped him in front of all their guests and ran off. -
JPI Nick’s mother, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott, far r.), long disapproved of Sharon — but in 2019, Nick was thrown for a loop to discover that the two women, along with Phyllis (then-Gina Tognoni, far l.) and Nick’s sister Victoria, had banded together to bury J.T.’s body after Nikki seemingly killed him to stop him from harming Victoria. When Nikki, Sharon and Victoria went to jail, Nick and Rey broke them free, and ultimately the women were exonerated when JT turned up alive. -
JPI In early 2020, Sharon got the news no woman ever wants to hear — she had breast cancer. While Sharon was married now to Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), Nick helped as much as he could to make sure Sharon had all the support she needed to fight. Daughters Mariah and Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) were also there to help and everyone celebrated when she was eventually given a clean bill of health. -
Howard Wise/jpistudios.com In 2023, Cameron Kirsten returned after serving his prison sentence. He ended up kidnapping Faith (Relynn Caster), taking her down to the sewers and strapping a bomb on her. Nick and Sharon rushed to save their daughter and Sharon ended up stabbing Cameron to death. -
Howard Wise/jpistudios.com Sharon had no idea she had been drugged when she thought she had killed Heather in 2023. When her apparent crime came to light, most of the town washed their hands of her, but it was Nick who knew Sharon couldn't be guilty and fought to clear her name. When she was kidnapped by Jordan in 2024, it was the thought of Nick (and her hallucination of him) that got Sharon through the ordeal and gave her the strength to fight the drugs in her system to finally escape.
