Soap Stars Shine at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards — See the Pics!

The stars came out for the 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, held on September 14 at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, and that included quite a few soap stars. Attending the ceremony were actors like General Hospital alum Nicholas Chavez (ex-Spencer), who was there supporting his Emmy-nominated colleagues from Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. Also, Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, Young and Restless), who now stars in the hit CBS series Tracker, had his wife, Sofia Pernas (ex-Marisa, Y&R), on his arm for the gala evening.

Nicholas Chavez (ex-Spencer, GH) was on hand to celebrate the various Emmy nominations that Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story was up for, including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series. He wore a sharp Saint Laurent suit for the occasion.

Grant Show, who soap fans know as Ryan's Hope's Rick, Melrose Place's Jake, and Dynasty's Blake, cheered on his wife, Katherine LaNasa, when she won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her work on The Pitt.

Angela Bassett started out her illustrious career with roles on soaps, playing Selina on Search for Tomorrow, Leonie on Ryan's Hope, and Nurse Angela on Guiding Light. Now starring in 9-1-1, the actress presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series to Britt Lower from Severance.

Kathy Bates, who was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work in Matlock, also worked in soaps that early in her career, playing bit parts on multiple soaps: Phyllis on The Doctors, Evelyn on One Life to Live, and Erica Kane's cellmate, Belle Bodelle, on All My Children.

Parker Posey, who kicked off her acting career playing Tess Shelby on As the World Turns from 1991-92, was nominated this year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role of Victoria Ratliff on The White Lotus. She also joined Lotus co-star Walton Goggins to present the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

Sheryl Lee Ralph was nominated again this year for her role in Abbott Elementary. Back at the start of her career in stage and screen, the actress played Laura McCarthy on Search for Tomorrow while also appearing in Dreamgirls on Broadway.

Although best known for playing A.C. Slater on Saved by the Bell or his work as a host on Access Hollywood, Mario Lopez also enjoyed a stint in daytime when he played Dr. Christian Ramirez on Bold and Beautiful in 2006.
