WEDDED BLISS
On Digest’s podcast, Dishing With Digest, B&B’s Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy) talked about her decision to elope with husband Elan Ruspoli over the summer. “I’m just that girl that was never getting around to it,” she explains. After getting engaged last November, “It turned into like April and I’m like, ‘Wow, I haven’t planned anything yet at all.’ Luckily, his family and my family are just really down-to-earth, easy people. They just said, ‘Yeah, if you wanna go elope, go!’ They were like, ‘Go to Vegas! It’s fine.’ We wanted to do it overseas, we wanted to do it in Italy. Around May, my girlfriend said, ‘Are you guys gonna do save the dates because flights are getting really expensive!’ And I just went, ‘Wow, I’m an ass.’ So we were there, we were traveling around, and some of our family was there and a lot of our friends were there, actually. We did it on a yacht off the coast of Sardinia. One of our friends, they officiate weddings, and we were like, ‘This is meant to be! We really need to just do this.’ So, yeah, we did it and I’m so happy we did it that way. It was so easy and there was no stress. You really just felt the love.” To hear the full podcast, go to our website, www.soapoperadigest.com, iTunes or Google Play.

HEARD IT ALL BEFORE
Genie Francis says she knew the GH writers were serious about giving her Laura more important things to do when the dialogue in her first scripts was noticeably light on recap. “There is stuff to play in everything that I’ve been given,” she beams. “There are a lot of scenes [on soaps] where you’re told to update the audience on what has already been seen; that’s sort of the dirty work of telling story in this format. And nobody likes having those scenes, where you’re just bringing people up to speed on what’s been happening in a story. Those, ‘Have you heard?’ kind of scenes, those are always the worst ones to do, because when you get those kinds of scenes, you really can’t do anything with them, even though it’s part of the job. And fortunately for me, I haven’t gotten any of those yet. And I’m thrilled!”

PROUD FATHER OF THE BRIDE
B&B’s John McCook (Eric) shares that he is very much looking forward to walking his daughter, LAST MAN STANDING’s Molly McCook, down the aisle next year. “My youngest is getting married a year from September,” he beams. “It’s been a nice year of engagement so far. There was an engagement party with a lot of people at a winery out in Malibu. All of her friends and John — my son-in-law-to-be is John Krause — had a wonderful time. His family lives here in California, in Palos Verdes, which is good because both families are here in the vicinity. We know them and we like them a lot. They’re funny and fun people.” Molly’s crew was especially impressive to her pop. “Her and John’s friends are actor/performer people and they are so smart and attractive and talented — and their feet are on the ground. They are as serious and dedicated to what they want to do as John and Molly are, so I look at them and go, ‘Wow, these are great friendships,’ which speaks very highly of who Molly and John are individually and as a couple, that they know so many quality friends.”

CAMP OUT
Robert Adamson (Noah, Y&R) and his TV dad, Joshua Morrow (Nick), recently attended a sports camp together for the second year in a row. “It’s crazy,” smiles Adamson. “We’re out in the middle of nowhere and we basically play every sport you can imagine: football, basketball, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, archery, hockey and tennis. It’s a small group of guys and you tally up all the points at the end of the three days. Josh and I are on the same team. The guys call him Soap and they call me Baby Soap. I’m decent at a couple of good sports and I come through with some pretty big plays, but Josh is the all-star! He is such an athlete.” Adamson is amazed with their stellar results considering he and Morrow have their fair share of sports injuries. “We both have bad backs and I tear my shoulder every once in a while,” he groans. “They’re things you just kind of deal with but as you get older, you’re like, ‘This hurts a lot more than it used to!’ I don’t think I walked straight for three days after this camp.”
