B&B alum Ashley Tesoro (ex- Kimberly) is revisiting her roots by competing in the Mrs. Nevada America pageant on June 7 at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. “As a child, doing pageants is what prepared me and gave me the confidence to go into the entertainment and acting industry,” says Tesoro. “Playing Kimberly was amazing, and I loved that my character was a model. I was very comfortable taking pictures and being onstage. It was a perfect fit. Now venturing back into the pageant arena, I believe it’s my acting and entertainment experience that is enriching my ability for this competition. My acting career has spanned over 25 years including all of my onstage singing and recording time, and I’m bringing one hundred percent of myself to this competition. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to do so!” To read more about what the actress is up to, go to www.soapoperadigest.com.

DAYS's George DelHoyo (Orpheus) reports that he bonded with on-screen son Brock Kelly (Evan) quickly. “He’s a very, very warm person and he’s very available,” says DelHoyo. “I think we made a success with it.” DelHoyo says he was happy to also connect with actors he worked with in the past. “I’m always excited to see Steve Nichols [Steve] and Drake [Hogestyn, John] because the three of us go back three decades,” he notes. “We have a really good warm, friendly and happy working relationship, a lot of trust.... We’re basically in the similar age group. And Steve and I have become good friends. We share a lot in common, a love of film, we go to the movies together, we hang out, we have dinner and we talk. He’s become a good friend. I think the last time I was on, we talked more and got to realize we had so many things in common and we started to hang out and bond over other things that we have in common."

Mark Lawson (Dustin, GH) considers himself blessed to be in storyline with daytime icon Genie Francis (Laura). "I had a day where Genie, Emme Rylan [Lulu] and James Patrick Stuart [Valentin] and I all had moments together in the episode, so we were running lines in the green room," he recalls. "Genie didn't do this on purpose, but she was sitting on the couch and above her was a poster celebrating the 25th anniversary of [the wedding of] Luke and Laura. There was a poster of her behind her on the wall! I kind of went into the Upside Down [from STRANGER THINGS] for a minute. I was like, 'What's happening?!' It was definitely kind of an out-of-body moment with her. But since then, we've had more and more scenes together and she's just the loveliest. I just love being around people who have done it for so long and who have just maintained their grace, and she's a perfect example of that."

Although they never appeared on Y&R together, Tyler Johnson (Theo) did work with Erika Jayne, who some- times plays Genoa City realtor Farrah and is one of the stars of THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF BEVERLY HILLS, on another project last year. It was a promo for the reality show, where Johnson had a cameo as a fairy-tale character. “How this came about was when I was part of the art department for a commercial crew and it was a job for Disney,” the actor explains. “I don’t know how these things happened but eight months later, I got a call from the director of the Disney ad [department] and she said, ‘I have a role where I need a Prince Charming. You’re the only one I could think of. Would you mind coming in and doing this?’ I asked, ‘When?’ and she said, ‘Tomorrow.’ I responded, ‘Fantastic. I’ll be there.’ So, it really originated from one photo that we took as a group and they had me
posing as Prince Charming in front of a mural.” Working with Jayne was brief but memorable. “Erika was great, just wonderful,” Johnson enthuses. “I think there was so much movement at that time on set that we didn’t get to actually connect a lot one-on-one, but she was very cordial and very sweet. It was a really posi- tive experience. I made a nice little chunk of money and I was probably on set for about 35 minutes.”
