The course of true love never runs smooth on daytime television, but for same-sex couples, the road to the altar is often inherently more fraught. In fact, no gay duo was able to marry on a soap until 2009, when All My Children broke new ground with the nuptials of Bianca Montgomery and Reese Williams — and they had to travel from Pennsylvania to Connecticut (which had legalized gay unions the previous year) in order to make it official.
