In 1997, Bold and Beautiful's Eric (John McCook) and Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery) prepared to remarry. The duo exchanged heartfelt words as the ceremony got underway, but when the minister opened his Bible, he was alarmed by its contents — and with good reason, as Sally had slipped a photo of Eric and Lauren in bed together into the holy book! (Eric had spent one night of passion with Lauren, but called their affair to a halt and swore her to secrecy about the tryst.) The minister put the wedding on pause — and when Stephanie subsequently found out why, she called the whole thing off.

In 1997, Austin Reed (Austin Peck) and Carrie Brady (Christie Clark) married for the first time on Days of Our Lives. That day, Austin was originally slated to marry Sami, but Carrie interrupted those nuptials with proof that Sami had deceived Austin in a variety of ways — perhaps most egregiously, by lying to him that he was the father of her son, Will (Lucas was the actual biological pop). After Austin dumped Sami, he quickly popped the question to Carrie, who accepted, and they worked quickly to mount a same-day ceremony.
