General Hospital’s Laura Came Out of Her Catatonic State and Other Big Moments From October 25

In 1991, GH’s Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) married Paul Hornsby (Paul Satterfield). Little did Tracy know that Paul was only marrying her because he was being blackmailed by a nefarious cartel that was making a play to gain control of ELQ. In order to force Paul to follow their orders, the baddies drugged Paul's young daughter, Susan, and the only way Paul could save his daughter was to get Tracy to the altar. When the truth eventually came out, Tracy — who welcomed a son, Dillon, with Paul — was crushed. Paul exited the canvas in 1994 but returned in 2015 with a new face (that of recast Richard Burgi).

In 2005, Jerry verDorn made his One Life To Live debut as Clint Buchanan. The actor assumed the role from his originator, Clint Ritchie, and he played Clint through to the series' final episode in 2012 (and then again in the show's short-lived online reboot in 2013). Prior to becoming a fixture in Llanview, verDorn had won two Daytime Emmys for his long-running role on Guiding Light, Ross Marler, which he played from 1979-2005. Sadly, verDorn passed away in 2022.

In 2006, John (Drake Hogestyn) asked Marlena (Deidre Hall) to marry him. "I believe you have a question for me," Marlena smiled. John suggested, "Why don't I just lose the talk.... and give you this?" Marlena was overwhelmed when he proffered a ring, saying, "I've never seen anything so beautiful." "Well, I have," he countered. "You." John made a romantic speech and Marlena told John she had a proposal of her own to make — that they elope! They headed to the Justice of the Peace — and much to their surprise, they ran into Austin and Carrie, who were also intending to tie the knot!

In 2006, General Hospital’s Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) emerged from her catatonic state after Robin administered an experimental drug to her. Luke gave his approval to the treatment, worried about the risks but deciding it was worth a shot to bring Lulu's mother back to her. When Lulu, Lucky and Nikolas showed up at the hospital and were brought up to speed, Nikolas made it clear that he was not happy with Robin for not informing him of Luke's plans. He burst into Laura's room to try to stop the administration of the drug, but Luke overpowered him. All of Laura's children visited her and were disappointed that she did not seem to be reacting to the medicine. Luke then spent time alone with Laura, voicing his own sadness, but when he started to leave, he was shocked when Laura called out his name.

In 2024 on Young and Restless, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) was arrested for the murder of his significant other, Heather Stevens, after Sharon Newman — who believed that she was responsible for Heather's death — framed him for the crime. When Chance first arrived to arrest him, Daniel was hoping for good news, but Chance revealed that he had just heard from the District Attorney and announced, "Daniel, you are under arrest for the murder of Heather Stevens."
