In 1966, Susan Flannery made her daytime debut as Laura Spencer Horton on Days of Our Lives. Floy Dean had played the role briefly before Flannery was cast. She remained with the show until 1975. Denise Alexander, who played the role of Susan, recalled to Soap Opera Digest in 2015 that both she and Susan Seaforth Hayes (Julie) had forged a close friendship with the actor during their years as co-stars. Alexander said she had "a great fondness for Susan Flannery, or Flannels, as we called her. One of the most stunningly beautiful women you would ever want to meet with a mouth like a truck driver!" In 1975, Flannery was awarded the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress for her work on DAYS. The actress would go on to win multiple Daytime Emmys for playing Stephanie Forrester on Bold and Beautiful.

In 1985, General Hospital’s Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) reunited with her missing daughter, Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough), in the Asian Quarter. Recalled Hughes to Soap Opera Digest in 2023, "I really loved the Asian [Quarter] storyline. There was a mission, there was a purpose there, and we were surrounded by ridiculously amazing actors and it was such a fabulously exciting moment to have all these great new people come in."

In 1990, Hayley Ripa made her All My Children debut as Hayley Vaughan, the surprise daughter of Adam Chandler via his long-ago fling with Arlene Dillon. She remained with the show until 2002 and returned for a visit in 2010. Introduced as a wild child, the character had a disastrous marriage to the dastardly Will Cortlandt and another failed union to Alec McIntyre but found true love with Mateo Santos, marrying him in 1997. The actress and her leading man, Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo), fell in love as well, tying the knot in 1996. She recalled to Soap Opera Digest the year they wed, "We just understood each other really well. If two people were ever supposed to be together, I’d say it was us."

In 2017, Tamara Braun (pictured with Garren Stitt as Oscar Nero) made her General Hospital debut as Kim Nero. The Daytime Emmy-winning actress had previously appeared on the show as Carly Corinthos from 2001-05. The actress explained in a 2017 interview with Soap Opera Digest that her comeback was instigated by Executive Producer Frank Valentini. "I got a call from Frank saying, ‘Would you come in and talk?’ And so I did. I met Frank at the Emmys in 2009, when I won mine [for Supporting Actress as DAYS's Ava]. He was the EP at One Life To Live then and was very positive and said, ‘I want to work with you.’ I said, ‘Well, fantastic!’ Then I got this call and the timing and the storyline and the character seemed right — and here I am!”

In 2022 on Young and Restless, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Grazidaei) and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) sat down for coffee and caught up after Lily unexpectedly ran into her ex when he returned to Genoa City to spend Thanksgiving with his mother, Phyllis, and half sister, Summer (marking Graziadei's return to the show he had last appeared on full-time in 2013). Daniel explained to Lily that his daughter, Lucy, was with his partner, Heather, in Portugal, and he expressed surprise over the fact that she was romantically involved with Billy Abbott. Lily and Daniel eventually renewed their romance, but ended up splitting.
