Five Things That Happened On June 3 Soap History

In 1999, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) regained consciousness after her near-execution on Days of Our Lives. She had been falsely accused, and subsequently convicted, of killing Franco Kelly, but really, the killer was Lucas Roberts. Lucas's mother, Kate Roberts, had framed Sami for her son's crime.

In 2003, Matt Cedeno (l.) exited Days of Our Lives as Brandon Walker, Abe Carver's long-lost son. He had begun playing the role in 1999, and made return appearances in 2004 and 2005.

In 2005, Jasper "Jax" Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) and Courtney Matthews (Alicia Leigh Willis) wed on General Hospital. Jax was nearly a no-show, convinced that his bride-to-be was not over her love for Jason Morgan. It was Jason, of all people, who convinced Jax that he could trust in Courtney's desire to spend the rest of her life with him. Anxious that Jax was going to call off the nuptials, Courtney was overjoyed when he arrived at the ceremony. In the park, when the minister asked if anyone objected, Carly took the opportunity to try to dissuade Jax from taking Courtney to be his lawfully wedded wife, but Jax's mind was made up, and the ceremony was completed.

In 2019 on Days of Our Lives, Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) discovered alcoholic Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) helping herself to some liquor. At the time, Maggie was in deep mourning over Holly Jonas, who was presumed dead (but was later discovered alive and well). She tearfully admitted that she had fallen off the wagon, saying, "Today was the first time I took a drink in over 30 years."

In 2024 on General Hospital, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) managed to fend off an attack at the coffee warehouse. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) then hauled him down to the PCPD for questioning, and they were both wondering the same thing: had Sonny Corinthos been behind the attack, targeting Jason? When Diane showed up to defend Jason, Jason told her it was more important to him that she defend Sonny. Later, Anna dialed a number she found on a phone that had been left behind by one of the assailants at the warehouse. She was shocked to discover the voice on the end of the line belonged to Valentin, leading to her realization that Valentin was secretly the head of Pikeman.
