In 1979, Robin Strasser made her One Life to Live debut as Dorian Cramer Lord. The actress had already made her mark on daytime during her stint on Another World, where she played Rachel between 1967 and 1972, after which she had moved on to All My Children as Christina Karras. Of landing the role, which had previously been played by Nancy Pinkerton and Claire Malis, Strasser told Soap Opera Digest in 2012, "I'm absolutely so grateful to Joe Stewart, who was the executive producer then, because he had me in for an interview. I was still on All My Children, but I had told them that I was going to be leaving, because I didn't think it was a good fit and I was at the end of my contract.... Joe Stewart met me with me [and] I told him that I was a fan and had been watching the show and thought the character was fabulous."

In 1984, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Reed (Melody Thomas Scott) wed for the first time on Young and Restless. The lavish affair was held at the ultra-swanky Colonnade Room. Nikki's elaborate wedding gown was constructed from imported French silk-faced satin and organza followed by a 10-foot train. Her headpiece was a crown of 20,000 hand-sewn beads and pearls. She secretly crashed the wedding dressed as a caterer and attempted to poison Nikki, but was thwarted. Nikki’s sister, Dr. Casey Reed was her maid of honor and Douglas served as Victor’s best man as the happy couple exchanged heartfelt vows. During the reception that followed, the couple shared their first dance to Gina Roma singing “Through The Eyes Of Love” and later, Ashley Abbott caught the bridal bouquet.

In 1995, Austin Peck made his Days of Our Lives debut as Austin Reed, a role he assumed from Patrick Muldoon. In 2015, Peck recalled of his audition in an interview with Soap Opera Digest, “I met Christie Clark [Carrie] and I remember Herb Stein [was] directing the screen test. One thing he said was, ‘Auditions have been won and lost on a kiss,’ and right then and there, I was like, ‘I got this, man. I’m gonna put so much into that kiss!’ Little did I know that Christie Clark definitely had a good old time making out with all of us.”

In 2007, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) accepted Jasper "Jax" Jacks's (Ingo Rademacher) marriage proposal on General Hospital after previously turning him down. Beaming at her ring, Carly cooed to Jax, "You know what? In 2018 on Young and Restless, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) whacked JT Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) with a fireplace poker in defense of her daughter, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), who was being attacked by JT. JT fell to the ground, seemingly lifeless.
