Young and Restless Casting Shocker: Tamara Braun Set To Make Her Genoa City Debut!
Prepare for a Genoa City shakeup! People announced today that veteran daytime star Tamara Braun is joining the cast of Young and Restless as Sienna Bacall. The actress, an alum of General Hospital, All My Children and Days of Our Lives, is set to begin taping next week and will make her debut this fall.
Making the Rounds
Braun is a two-time Daytime Emmy winner who burst onto the soap scene in 2001 when she assumed the role of Carly Corinthos on GH. She exited the show in 2005 with a Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Lead Actress under her belt. From there, Braun moved to DAYS as Ava Vitali, scoring a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her 2008 run as Ava. From 2008-09, she appeared on AMC as Reese Williams, then returned to DAYS in 2011 as Taylor Walker. She reprised DAYS’s Ava from 2015-16 before making a surprise comeback to GH in a new role, Kim Nero, for which she earned her second Daytime Emmy in the Supporting Actress category. In 2020, she once again rejoined the DAYS cast as Ava.
Braun ended her most recent run as Ava earlier this year. She announced her departure on April 1, writing on Instagram, writing, “I wish this was an April Fool’s Joke but it’s not. This is Ava’s last week on Days. Last couple of days really. Sad but true. I’ve been gone since late July of last year [due to DAYS’s long lead time from production to air].” She added, “Thanks for all the #love #kindness and #support during Ava’s latest Salem stint. 🩷.”
