Nikki was upset when she found Victor talking on the phone with Ashley. He explained that he’d just called Ash and Abby to wish them a happy Thanksgiving.
Brad returned from caring for a sick Abby and asked Victoria if she still wanted him to attend Thanksgiving dinner with her. She said yes, but only if he promised not to bail out. After, Nikki stopped by and Victoria told Nikki about her invitation; Nikki managed to stay polite as she said that Brad was welcome. Nikki then went to whine to Victor about Brad, but he pointed out that if she’d told Victoria that Brad wasn’t welcome, their daughter probably wouldn’t show up.
Nicholas told Sharon that he spied Brad’s car at Victoria’s. Sharon hoped Brad and Victoria would be happy, but Nick said he didn’t trust Carlton. Nick worried that Sharon wasn’t up for the dinner, but an excited Noah came downstairs, asking if they were ready. The Newmans decided to attend.
Phyllis was upset when her turkey wouldn’t defrost and Gina refused to give her one. Daniel cheered her up when he showed her the mysterious contents of a box he was holding.
“Honey, you should see my bird — it’s fabulous!” crowed (sorry, couldn’t help it) Dru to Neil as she set their Thanksgiving table. Devon arrived and reported that his mom is missing. Turns out, Yolanda had been on a cookie-ingredient run. She and Devon happily made “Grandma’s Cookies,” but then realized that they should’ve cut the recipe in half. Move over, Mrs. Fields.
Brenda (really Sheila) told the hotel manager that Jennifer (uh, really Sheila) will be taking over her room for her, and that Tom would be staying around (Our idea? Brenda, Jennifer, Sheila and Tom should all move in together and begin their own wacky sitcom.). Later, Scott came by with a holiday card and a murder mystery for Brenda to read on the plane (“My favorite kind!” she exclaimed to no one’s surprise). Scott insisted that Brenda attend dinner with them, but Sheila refused. Lauren called and demanded to speak with her. Sheila hung up and pretended to lose the signal. Scott feared that his mom would think that Brenda was avoiding her. Brenda gave Scott a huge hug good-bye, and looked forward to him returning to Toronto. “I get this wonderful feeling that a new chapter is about to begin in our lives,” she cooed, as she continued to hold him. Ew. Remind us again why this 20-something guy is hangin’ with this creepy woman?
Tom, wearing a bright orange and green plaid shirt (the eyes, they burn) went to Crimson Lights and demanded that Kevin get him Michael. Kev refused, but Michael soon arrived, anyway. Tom again bugged Michael about their deal; Mike revealed that the necklace had been found in the hospital, poison-free, which meant that Tom couldn’t possibly have the name of a culprit. Later, Tom went to see Sheila and blasted her for removing the poison from the necklace. When she asked why he seemed so down, he revealed that Ashley has been using him. “I thought she cared about me,” he whispered, barely holding back tears. “I thought she gave a damn. People don’t think I have a heart. I DO!” he shouted. Aw, Tom. You’re killing us. “Nobody plays Tom Fisher for a fool,” he went on, his anger getting more intense. “Nobody.”
Michael gave Kevin a hefty check for the Crimson Lights charity holiday dinner. J.T. and Mackenzie cuddled and messed around until a grumpy Kevin broke them up. J.T. assumed that Kev’s mood was due to the fact that Victor had fired him from the computer job. Later, as they set up the dinner, Kevin realized that they forgot to make dessert. And then a miracle happened when at that moment the Winterses arrived with Yolanda’s extra cookies! Whew, Thanksgiving at the coffeehouse was saved.
John and Ashley discussed Gloria and how Tom had been blackmailing her. John felt bad that Gloria hadn’t felt she could come to him, and stated that he hates Tom. After John left, Ashley found the flowers and “A Poem For Ashley” that Tom had left for her. John returned, but Ashley didn’t tell him about the gifts from Tom. Later, Lauren and Michael arrived for dinner. Lauren went to help out in the kitchen; Ashley then showed Mike Tom’s gifts. Michael stated that their set-up of Tom was all for the best.
Everyone gathered for the Newman’s Thanksgiving. Poor Miguel, who was working on the holiday (Doesn’t the guy ever get a day off?), went to serve the meal. Sharon brought a holiday centerpiece which Cassie had made, and Nikki put it on the table. Soon, Phyllis and Daniel stopped by with the mystery package — which turned out to be an apple pie. Noah suggested that they invite Phyllis and Daniel to join them. Sharon reluctantly agreed. Later, at the dinner, Brad murmured sweet nothings in Victoria’s ear, while Phyllis regaled the gang with a story about her failed attempt to cook a turkey. Victor then complimented Sharon’s first Webcast, but she gave Brad the credit. Suddenly, the lights went out and Sharon, Noah and Daniel were illuminated in a spotlight (oh, wait, this is a daydream). Anyway, Sharon, thinking of Cassie when she looked at Daniel, suddenly left the table. Nick ran after her and found her crying. She said that she has to go back in there so she can learn to move on. “You amaze me sometimes,” Nick told her, tenderly brushing her hair out of her eyes. Nick and Sharon returned to the table in time for dessert. Victor made a speech, calling it a “bittersweet” day, but reminded them that they still had much to be thankful for.
